I really like the pic, but can that egg really close? Wouldn't those hinges protruded out the back of the egg? I can see why you went with the bent shape for the hinges, artistically it looks really good. Sorry, I'm anal that way. Great Work!

Bumpmaps are 2dimensional textures which you apply on your 3D-model. The software then generates from the color-information of the texture a height map and displays the dark parts as deepenings and the bright parts as heights
