Description
This is an idea I had after discussing it over with ZEROGEO.Derrick J. Wyatt, the creator of "Transformers: Animated," confirmed that Primus doesn't exist in that universe, although the Church of Primus is still a thing in that world. The reason why? Derrick J. Wyatt doesn't like Primus, and when I looked it up, I could find no reason as to why. After thinking about it for a while, I decided that it was one of the few aspects of Animated that I didn't care for. Primus is a well-established part of Transformers lore and is deserving of recognition. So with that in mind, and just to spite Wyatt, I drew this and then colored it before adding the bits of Cybertron and the moons.
Also, I figured that if Unicron can have wings, why can't Primus?
Now, we have a depiction of what Primus might've looked like in the Animated universe.
Let me know what you guys think in the comments below, and if you decide to use this, let me know first.
Edit: Added some shadowing here and there.

I think in BW & BM it just sorta looked like a metallic Earth.

Looking back on how Primus and Unicorn are kinda not in the Animated should the Shrouding event justify it?

There was already an in-fiction explanation for why Primus and the multiversal Unicron were not in the Animated universe before the Shrouding was even a thing. They called it the "non-linear WY-att pulse function", which was just a fancy way of explaining that Derrick J. Wyatt wasn't having any of that simply because he didn't like Primus.

Very well done my friend. Primus is something all Transformers franchises should have be it a God of light, Gaurdian of order or just the first Cybertronian to exist through other means.
Hmm correct me if I'm wrong be wasn't Megatron's whole plot with Allspark in Animated essentially bringing all of Cybertron to life as a battle station to conquer the Galaxy and beyond? I need to reread my Allspark Almanac but I think it was. Seems that maybe why the Decepticons never got their chance to make Cybertron living as if it was given a spark it would no doubt be Primus which would be a big shock to Megs he achieves the goal of making Cybertron a living bot like the Omega Sentinels and what happens? Primus awakes in this universe and kicks Megatron to the curb after which he decides to become one with the Universe as he often does and rises to help if needed.
Biggest problem I have with a no Primus rule is by extension Unicron should not exist either but it's confirmed that he is a existing being. So Wyatt is just being pedantic about it. I mean even the G1 cartoon has a Primus thanks to Beast Wars retconing him in. Seeing how so much of G1 was used for Animated well you can see my point as I can yours.
My personal Primus for T:RO is born from a planet (One of two) that has been used for as a tech dump by a race who by the start of Primus' life have long been gone. Oddly these aliens only ever dumped Technological and biological trash on the to planets in question so we don't have any toxic sludge that you'd get from nuclear waste just old piles of computers, engines, vessels and the organic stuff becoming Oil like on Earth.
All this combined with a Allspark that is turbo charged (Nope not giving it a origin beyond it found the right place. Honestly Macguffun's please forgive my spelling there sometimes just are even in our world we don't know where things came from and while science will always allow us to understand parts of it some questions are not possible to give anything more that "it just is.") collides with this planet and so the birth of Cybertron is at hand.
Unicron is much the same only I'm bringing in a Shattered Glass aspect Unicron does not have a Spark he has a Ember created from a artifact of negative polarity to the Allspark (Still trying to pick a good name for it. Since it's a source of All Embers in this universe but unlike Allspark Nothing combined with Ember seems right. Any ideas my friend?)
Heck Energon has it's negative in my series but it's not Dark Energon it is called Neregon (The middle E is silent so it's pronounced Ner as in Nerd and Gone.) I thought it be more interesting to have a negative energon be a anagram of it's positive brother.

Thanks, and yeah, Primus is something that I'd prefer all versions to have, and preferably as a good guy and not one of those corrupted, extremist types who think they're always right despite evidence to the contrary.
Not sure about Megs' plan for the Allspark, because last time I checked, he was planning to use it to make an army and/or super weapon to conquer the universe. I rather doubt that Primus would've featured in it given Wyatt's stance on Primus.
Speaking of Unicron, I did ones of him and other TF gods as well, and check out the description of the Big U's pic as well and you may get how Wyatt included him in Animated.

Interesting idea for an origin, although to be honest, I kind of like the idea of the Allspark being an object through which Primus acts, much like the Matrix of Leadership and Vector Sigma. Still, it's your story, so do what you will with it.
The origin in the Aligned Continuity is that both Primus and Unicron were once a single omnipotent being of unknown origin that found its way into our galaxy. However, because it could find no other beings like itself, it got lonely and started to converse with itself, eventually developing two personalities; Primus, who accepts the universe as it is, and Unicron, who finds and seeks to correct perceived flaws in the universe. The two personalities got more and more argumentative, to the point where the being ended up splitting itself in two, in the process creating bodies for its warring psyche. As a result of the separation, Primus became more withdrawn while Unicron became more rapacious and destructive. Eventually, the two took up arms against one another with neither side gaining an advantage. After a while, Primus realized the stalemate was getting them nowhere and created the 13 Original Primes to change things up. The 13 defeated Unicron and cast him out, followed by Primus becoming one with Cybertron's core and going into a deep sleep.
In the Marvel G1 comics, Primus and Unicron were the last remaining members of armies of gods, light and dark respectively. They took their battle to the astral plane, but seemingly faired no better there. Then, they returned to the material world, right into Primus' trap. Instead of materializing in their bodies, Primus instead trapped himself and Unicron in barren asteroids. This didn't last long, however, and Unicron psychically reshaped his prison into the transforming planetoid we know. Primus did the same thing and reshaped his own prison into Cybertron. From there, Primus created the Transformer race to help in his battle against Unicron but hid himself by sleeping so that Unicron wouldn't be able to psychically find him and his children.
As for the Energon that Unicron produces, good job on being creative, as Dark Energon was a bit too generic for me and came across as not putting a lot of effort into it.

Indeed. From my understanding of most takes on Primus he took to staying dormant after the battle with Unicron for exactly that reason. He didn't want to be a interference so much as a guide only stepping in when needed and always watching and learning about those around him in the Universe. Primus has always been depicted as a positive thinker and not one to act higher than another even though he is a divine being he sees all creation as equals.
Unicron however has always been the vain, oppressive and foolish of the two. Heck the best example I can think of is his conversation with Optimus in Prime.
Unicron: These Humans, you think of them as my progeny?
Optimus: I do.
Unicron: Parasites. They too will know my wrathful hand!
Right there Unicron could care less about anything around him. He is the only thing in all existance that matters in his mind nothing not even those who profess loyalty to him are anything but bacteria waiting to be cleaned off his body with a demon's equivalent of hand sanitizer.
As for Megatron's Allspark plan I know Wyatt said he didn't want Primus in his series but if he had gotten that far to allow Megatron to achieve his goal I think him and his fellow writers on the show would of realized "Wait if we make Cybertron a Transformer it's most likely going to be some kind of Primus offshoot. We just backed into a corner we didn't want!" at least that's how I envision the scenario. it. As they say hindsight is 20/20.
Nicely done my friend. I had a look at all of them (I think let me know if I missed one when faving) I like that all of them have wings and I have to say good call on Atlas his comic design is sketch as it gets. Whole continents as kibbel yesh and the whole boot thing is stupid looking. But Siver Age Comics had weirder but the design you made incorporating the Rock Lords I think is excellent and you know I think I know of a planetoid in our system he could be realistically "Juno" one of the largeset Rocks out there in the belt that's not a planet. It's still large enough for him to match Unicron and Primus though he'd be quite a bit shorter like the Bumblebee of the Cybertronian Deitys.
Well in a way this is still true. While the Allspark granted him life and form Primus is directly connected to it and the Well of Allsparks and his spark is absolutely incapable of being snuffed thanks to the supercharge the Allspark had when it hit. While not a God in my series being more a Demigod he can act through it, the Matrix and Vector Sigma. In this way Primus has his special power that all Cybertronians have along with a natural ability to create Space Bridges (Prime's style of one) but can allow new sparks to be born in a verity of ways without forcing his hand on them all and being able to interact with the Sparks that have returned to their resting place.
"We know not where it came from, only that it has the power to create worlds. This is how our race was born." just like Wyatt I have no intention of ever even trying to come up with a where, when, how or why the Allspark exists it just does and it's first creation is a major part of it and vice versa. The "Ember" creator for Unicron I will explain how it got there but not why as well as it is really a negative polarity version of the Allspark from another universe in this cluster. It was somehow shot into the primary Trinimus Cluster and mirroring it's twin was supercharged when it created Unicron's Ember.
There are so many ways to create the to brothers. Order, Chaos and their other defining parts and I thought them being one that split to be a bit common. Indeed motivation is something I'm thinking long and hard about such as Megatron's origin and why the Decepticons were founded (Taking a Dreamwave note before he was Megatron he was named Martax I'm using that continuity's Optimus' nonprime name as well as Orion Pax sounds too much like a Cybertronian City-state name.)

True, although one friend of mine did point out something that gave credit to the TFP setup the two had where they were both the insides of planets. Namely, in most stories with the Primus and Unicron setup, Primus is busy taking a snooze while Unicron is actively going around destroying and consuming things, but with the TFP setup, they were both more or less asleep. Still, the TFP setup had its own problems, and I don't care much for having Earth's core be a TF god for a number of reasons.
Still, I have a feeling that if the writers of IDW were to portray Primus, they would make him an antagonist as well as a well-intentioned extremist, since they like turning EVERY CHARACTER into angry jerks. Either that or a guy who started out normal but then got power and developed a god-complex after being deified by the populace, like what they did with the Primes. Sorry if I sound cynical, I'm just jaded to the way IDW has been handling things. Not helped by the fact that they seem to like portraying nearly every religious person and/or group as being part of a corrupt church whose beliefs about their world's origins may or may not be true.
Yeah, that's a good example of just how arrogant and selfish Unicron is, and I used to think that Unicron's big goal was to become the only thing in all of existence without realizing that he'd have nothing left to do if he succeeded. Then I heard from an expert on TF Lore how it really is:
"Unicron's ideology is similar to an active nihilist. Unicron genuinely believes that he is doing the right thing by destroying creation as it prevents future lives being created to face life, something Unicron believes to be a lie with a smile plastered on it. Unicron sees life as almost sad as all these living things have their own hopes and aspirations that pale to entropy and death and that by extinguishing life he puts an end to this sad story (though he is not necessarily acting out of compassion rather than nature.) Ultimately in the end, after all of existence is destroyed and all that remains is the Void, Unicron himself would die and then his goals would truly be complete. In short, as Unicron sees himself as the agent of entropy, he would see himself killed once everything else dies."
Glad you like my pics, although I think you missed the one with Unicron himself. Also, you mind leaving a comment on the Guiding Hand group pic?
Yeah, I changed Atlas' look from the comic for rather obvious reasons, and I figured the look of the Rock Lords might be a good way to portray a TF god whose planet alt. mode is covered by a rocky surface.
I guess no version has a definitive explanation for where the Allspark came from, although I kind of assumed that in the Aligned Continuity it was something that either Primus or the Primes created.
I actually have a few ideas if you want to discuss them in a PM if you'd like.

Indeed Primus seems to slumber a lot in most series while ignoring his brother's devastation. Both being dormant in Prime helped even the score a bit though Unicron's revival when Primus was repowered was stupid while he may be able to feel his brother awaken there is no reason for the effect of the Matrix to fail. I know it was just his physical Ember being sealed in possibly a Shadow Zone limbo but Primus must of powered up before like this why wait till then?
It just feeds into my sympathy for Arcee and the other bots. "We revive Cybertron, just to have it destroyed?!" Unicron truly has no empathy in Prime and he is the most arrogant being in all the franchise even Sentinel in Animated has less self-centered thinking and he's quite the pompous old windbag.
That makes a tone of sense but from every action I've seen of the monster his only thought was "You are beneath me." seeing how he is technically a god of sorts also puts that theory to a major test since he and Primus would most likely have spark/Embers that can't be extinguished period. His mind set is quite likey a lot like what your friend says true enough but Unicron's arrogance would screw him over in the end since the only creature capable of putting out his lifeforce is dead he would end up alone in nothingness while Primus would be with all other life in a dimension where all are one a realm nothing can destroy since it couldn't even be reached by the Hyptherion. Heaven, The Allspark, Paradise, Elysian Fields whatever you want to call it life would find a way to live while Unicron and all of his many counterparts who tried to destroy the multiverse (I'm talking post shroud since he was one being period before it save for the Primacon built ones.) end up like Voldermort in a place nither living or dead.
Sure thing I'll do so first thing tomorrow my friend.
Indeed and Atlas is all the better for it too. I like how much Wyatt actually did to connect the farthest Transformers universes to Animated even going so far as to have Tux/Stretch of the Gobots come from Animated. I like the idea that the Gobots is intertwined with the whole Transformers series now thanks to Hasbro owning the rights to everything save the classic molds heck I'm planning to have Cy-kill as a Ground fleet commander in the Decepticons of my series his rank being the same as Starscreams with Air units.
Funny thing I noticed durring a recent rewatch of Animated about the Rocklords they make the Transformation sound except it's modulated to sound like stone and not a synthesizer making it. If we think about it they are probably Silicon based life and since that's a component in semiconductors and all maybe they are truly distant cousins to the Cybertronians. The Allspark was gone for Millions of years who's to say it automatically reached that spacebridge where it was found?
Hmm if I remember correctly in The Aligned Well of Allsparks and the energy fount it contained was created from the body of a dying Solus Prime after Megatronus unintentionally fatally wounded her. It's said her body made the tunnel to the core and was the last thing the Forge created for her. Onyx, Micronus and one other Prime of the thirteen entered it and with their powers together and Onyx's Mask gave it the power to sow new life in ever evolving ways. Since in the Aligned univers it's not a block or crystal but more like well a fountain near the spark of Primus. But yeah typically the Allsparks of the type in Animated and the Movies have no origin know to anyone since they are conduits that give life from a higher power.
Oh of course my friend by all means feel free to discuss ideas with me. I always enjoy a good brainstorming with a friend.

Yeah, while I do love TFP, it did have its share of problems, but then again, don't most versions? I think someone somewhere said they felt like the return of Unicron in "Predacons Rising" was the writers pulling something out of their butts to bring him back. One guy I know who's writing his own version of TFP in fanfic form is going with the classic setup, and when I pointed out the problem with it, he said the explanation he'd go with would be that maybe Primus was damaged at some point and would need to be revived.
True, Unicron does take the "it's all about me" attitude to extremes, but the explanation that one guy provided does add some depth to his motivations. Still, depth doesn't necessarily make someone sympathetic, and the Big U clearly has a very warped perspective on things. As such, last I heard, back before the shroud event, the rule was that if either Primus or Unicron died, then all of reality would go with them, and there'd be nothing left. Now with the shrouding in play, that's not the case.
I sent you a couple notes.

Every cluster must have some flaw to them no matter what. Considering the ammount of damage Primus sustained in the War for Cybertron your friend can have a viable solution to the problem though the fact that Optimus is literally carrying a small sliver of Primus with him which is awake he should never of even thought of returning. But in my honest opinion Unicron should of been out for at least a Million years or so after all he is immortal and therefore never truly gone, but being hit with the power of the Matrix which is doing exactly what it is designed to "Light the Darkest Hour" to keep Chaos and Order in balance lest one become more powerful and harm everything.
As far as I've always read a Multiversal Singularity cannot be killed completely. If a MS is destroyed in one universe it simply can no longer return to that universe without help. After all Unicron has been killed a couple times and all it amounted to was banishment from that universe though I could be wrong.
Indeed Unicron takes it's all about me and amps it up to 11. Even with the mindset that your friend mentioned he's still thinking about himself as he can't understand why someone would want to keep living and because of this he thinks that it's his job to destroy life. No matter how you look at it Unicron only cares about himself and justification is simply nothing more than "I have to have it my way" if you ask me.
Awesome my friend I'll get back to you on those ASAP.

I want to keep mine from being as deep as Prime's in terms of the Matrix but I still want my Optimus to hold the wisdom of ages and he can tap into it in times of need or by meditateing (No not like BM Primal. A simple look inward like clearing his mind and hearing the voice of a former prime) I want my Optimus to crack jokes or laugh unlike Prime's as well I mean come on that whole
"Wanna see something funny?"
"No."
is a bit far even G1 Prime laughed.

Well, just make sure to not have him be too jolly and cheerful. After all, both Prime and IDW went with the "War is Hell" approach and showed how war toughens you up. But still, seeing Optimus have fun every now and then would be nice, and maybe even some romance with a certain pink femme who he's been paired with since the original cartoon. *Wink*
IDW tried to Optimus a bit more relatable but bogged him down with so many character flaws that he's borderline unrecognizable. Then again, IDW's definition of "realistic" is "make everyone a full-on scheming angry jerk."

Oh dear no I'm gonna balance him afterall a Prime isn't meant to be a goof ball party all day dude. Optimus is war hardened but his Spark even in the worst of times kept some light in it. My great uncle Harland he was a soldier in WWII and he saw some very bad things (Not death camps but it would make me or my father look like we drank Ipecac for a week.) But he still had a sense of humor and hobbies beyond that life and I never saw him myself angry though I know you didn't want to cross him, but yeah Optimus I think will be sorta like him a bot who has seen war but knows that if he let's the war destroy all his emotion his sense of humor it would be like his spark was dark. Couple that with his wisdom from the matrix he can gain by reflection and looking deep inside and I think it can work well.
Heh I'll admit I've got a pairing in my bots already so I may just bring in her as another reason he never became so unemotional. By the by the other pair are a yellow kadet (His vehicle mode isn't a VW but a Opal Kadet here if your a fan of the old Top Gear you may know the very one he scanned "Oliver!!!!!" ) and a little blue Jet (She's usually a little blue two wheeler.)
Egh never go that route everyone has flaws but never just heap them on to try to make the character more like something their not. Optimus' original portrayal was inspired by a real world soldier Peter Cullen's brother a man who had seen dark things for sure but he kept himself unlike others. Like my great Uncles he was still a brother who inspired his family, Joked around with them and had more character to him than some of us will ever even see. Optimus was relateable then and he should be now. But like you say IDW has a thing for making everyone jerks I mean I've said it before but Prowl what did they do to you?!

Good idea and your great uncle sounds like a good man.
Glad to hear you're bringing her in. I'm assuming that the yellow Kadett is Bumblebee and the little blue jet is either the Prime version of Arcee or Chromia?
I'll speak with you about Arcee in another note when you're able.
Yeah, the way IDW handled the characters is a bit of a discombobulated mess. After all, to name another example, they turned the character of Star Saber from a good leader and adopted father into a religious fanatic hell-bent on killing anyone who doesn't conform to his beliefs. Prowl has become a good example of "Depending on the Author" since everyone seems to have different ideas of exactly how much of a jerk he should be.
As for IDW Optimus, plenty of people over the years since the original G1 have complained that Optimus was too generic a character and didn't have much depth or personality as far as they were concerned. In IDW, however, they tried to hard and swung too far in one direction.

Thank you. He was indeed a great man who passed down a few of his interests to me and my dad. As you can probably guess from my uploads I'm quite a Railway fanatic and it's in my families blood. My only regret with my Uncle is that I never got the chance to listen to the stories he wouldn't of minded telling me of his service days.
Heh yup Bee is the Kadet and Arcee is the jet. It was hard finding a aircraft small enough for her to still be a scout like Bee but I managed to find one at last. Ransack was a pain in the skidplate to figure out too since I wanted him to be a fighter plane of a design akin to the RoTF Biplane but I wanted him to be a slightly more modern plane looking like a Biplane with it's lower wings removed and with the same cockpit arrangement Thankfully I found a old Swiss Monoplane that will work perfectly.
I look forward to hearing about Arcee from you my friend. I'll be replying more quickly this week as with Easter being over there is less rush plus I'm absolutely stoked for the 21st as it will be my third ever convention. It's called Cape Comiccon and for three years running I've got to go and it is to stay that way. Going to dress up as Dr. Light.
Oh sure make the kind father figure into a zealot with all but the crimson of a certain inquisition what on the fith moon of Pazanz were they thinking? Indeed Prowl has become such a target of being a jerk his captions on the wiki all even his G1 listings make a joke about him being a prick you know I never felt Michael Bell was trying for Prick with Prowl and we all know how well he can play that character trope man is a great Voice Actor.
Hah maybe to the average nerd and kid Optimus isnlt that relateable but I'm sure a lot of soldiers out there would relate to Optimus very well. Well the versions that are a little more grounded that is Prime's version is relatable to a degree but not like his G1 incarnation and animated too (Even though I've complained about the more robotic thinking thing Optimus in the series is just a tad bit out of touch with things not taught in the academy a by the books kid but still a good leader. And he got better pitty sentinel never learned) Heck remember what was the biggest defining moment for most 1980s fans for Optimus as well as the most shocking? Prime being shown to be mere mortal just like we all are not even one hero who never gave up couldnlt go forever without Primus interveneing. Mortality is the one thing we Humans have that is only one of two truly equal gifts we all have. Life and Death are things no matter how rich or poor you are you are equal in that you live and will one day return to the golden shore that bore you into this world Well of Allsparks, Heaven, Nirvana, Eden, Vallhala or ahich ever one is meant for the good.

Indeed. Picking the right Alm. Mode is as much work as thinking up their stories. But to be honest at the same time it's a thrill to be a writer and search out that perfect match.
Just commented a few moments ago. I hope you enjoy my take on it my friend.
Indeed they really need to keep that in mind for the new series run after the Reboot I mean there are just much better ways of handling the characters besides bogging them dowh with flaws and or taking the Jerk routes. Honestly a trait I want to portray with my Dinobots is that due to how they all receive their sparks (Grimlock's body through elements of my concept of the Allspark artifact works holds five spark creating charges and his touch will bring the intended Dinobot to life) they consider each other brothers with a proper bond down to Grimlock losing it if they are hurt badly and I mean full on Viking Berserker loosing it here. The Dinobots are very close in their brotherhood I can't think of a comparison to accurately show as even the TMNT's bond isn't quite as tight with the Dinobots they are true to the musketeer creed "all for one and one for all" and they might get into minor scuffles equivalent to two brothers blooding eachothers nose over a stupid thing and five minutes after they've stopped both forgive eachother on the verge of tears. Does that make sense?

So it would seem.
I did, and thanks again.
I understand, but let's discuss this in better detail in a note stream or Discord chat.

I like it, he definitely looks cool in the animated style.
To be honest it always seemed odd to me that Primus doesn't have wings considering he and Unicron are supposed to contrast each other (if that's the right word).
It's difficult to get a bot that turns into a ball to look good but Primus seems to be an exception.

I'm curious, could the wings be used like some kind of solar panels to help fuel the planet? or this that a really stupid idea.
I always kind of thought the moons should probably play some role in his robot mode, possibly weaponry or optional armour
I still think its a really cool piece of concept art.

I suppose they could, but then again, how does Energon factor in? Plus, why does Unicron have wings, aside from having a typical demonic look?
Well, the moons did serve as weapons in the "Transformers Cybertron" cartoon, where Primus used them as something akin to ball-and-chain flails.
And I'm glad you like. Hopefully, it'll encourage more people to do their own takes on Primus.

I guess they could be used to help synthesize energon. As a fuel the 'stored potential energy' has to be captured from somewhere, like photosynthesis in plants and algae capturing light energy and its is eventual 'storage' in coal and oil with time.
I thought Unicrons wings formed the ring around his planet mode, I could be wrong about this though...
Oh cool, I've not seen Cybertron so I didn't know
Your Welcome

That could work.
As for the Big U, yeah, his wings form the ring around his planet mode.
Might not hurt for you to check it out when you can. There's plenty of sites that have it.

This looks reasonable enough to look in TF animated. Nicely done

Nothing bad of course but I thought he would've had some kind of god image almost like my movie version of Primus.
My movie Primus has that priest look. I thought he would have something like that.

Well, I suppose, although, if you compare this body to that of Unicron's, you'll find that they're not all that dissimilar.
As for decorations, I'm not sure what I could add and where.

I suppose although I'm not certain how that would go with the aesthetic of what I put together. It does make me wonder how Starscream's crown would look in the Animated format.
Are you still wanting to do your own Animated version of Primus?

First I still I have to come up with a design for him. So it's not simple.

I understand. For a bit of the head, I based it on that of the Animated version of Rodimus.
Of course, for the rest of it, I drew from scratch.

I thought that was the case. The one bit of photo manipulation that I used was from the bits of Cybertron's surface and the moons.

Yeah that's most of my work. Yeah I did notice that from the moons and bits of Cybertron.
