Description

The Obbeeysian Count class was designed by Quinn Fulton in 1906. This class of 2-4-0 tender engines was the tender variant of the Countess class. These engines were originally designed with boilers able to reach boiler pressures up to 200 psi. Over the lives of these engines, their boilers were upgraded multiple times, making them capable of higher boiler pressures.

As was tradition, the prototype of this class was bought by the Obbeeysian Coal Mining Company, as well as two faceless engines.

In 1908, the Mwyllin Flour Mill bought two of these engines, both non-faceless and twins. These engines were needed to deliver flour across the Keeshyn branchline and the mainline up to Balley’s Hill and Wassrane on either side of Jannooby. In 1935, the older of the twins was horribly mangled in the fire that burned down the mill. It survived, but it was in such unimaginable pain that it begged to be let out of its misery. Despite the protest of its younger twin, the engine was scrapped two months before the Mwyllin Flour Mill would be taken over by the Keeshyn Farmer Association. The remaining twin fell into depression for several years, before finally starting to move on.
