The Future of Trunks

On the one year anniversary of the androids' demise, an even deadlier threat emerges from space having followed a visitor to Earth. The visitor is none other than a young saiyan named Celari who came in search of Prince Vegeta. Trunks finds himself back amongst the death and horror he grew up with and blames the unwelcomed saiyan for it. He makes the decision on his own to follow in his mother's footsteps to find Planet Namek and restore the dragonballs on earth. However, Celari may be his only key to finding the new planet, and has no idea just how astonishing her origin actually is. The shadow of Vegeta is unmistakable in Trunks as he's forced to choose between keeping his pride and protecting the human race from repeating a horrendous fate.

Wow. Just the other day I thought of what it would of been like if the new series was just about Trunks and his future and 2 days ago I completed a draft about it Β Haven't too detailed it as much as your final cut right here but what I did was give him kids at the start having jumped a few years after he defeated the androids and Cell in his time. I do like how you took a slower pace in chronicling Earth's recovery and I too did start the saga off with a tournament but in dedication to Gohan as Trunks would want it to be. I also had Trunks be a sort of doomsday prepper not wanting to be caught off guard, so he became SSJ3 in between the years where he had Bra, Vegeta jr and Gohan -- the youngest of his children where by a new character is their mother. I also brought in a Saiyan or two in later arcs where one came from the future who's Trunks son Gohan's daughter, Pan. The other is Bardock who I'll admit was made the enemy in a way inspired by Black Goku - applaud your total originality here by the way. I wanted to make this tale a DB series with a different feel so I did a little space opera with an invasion of an interdenominational armada which would develop the children's characters as much as their father. Giving Earth an ally much like Namek was something needed without it being Namek and I did honestly forget that they had a new namek wished for them before the androids -- like I said, draft Β I also did things that would seem similar but with a alternate take because I wanted a consequence to his actions of time travel to affect him which brought me to the supreme kai of time (like in Xenoverse, yes) in relation to Pan and the Bardock arc of Time breakers. I did do knew forms (also fusions) that related to effects of the story where I had Gohan become a magic based SSJ as a result of an arc I called Hell bound where the family battled a makaioshin. I rolled with the theme of no dragon balls up until the end but it's in between and a little at the beginning that I too introduced androids again where I did a little Winter Soldier with Capsule Corp and a new Red Ribbon organization uprising. That time was much a Bulma moment of heroism as much a Trunks in defeating their Triborg (Gohan's corpse - sorry) The second time is the aftermath of the invasion where hundreds of thousands died and more so gravely injured. Capsule corps constructed this time they're means was towards saving lives and giving people a chance at living normal lives again through it's procedure. My last bit of machination was coming full circle in seeing both Goku and Vegeta where the final stories would involve the return of the wishing orbs and a worlds tournament for the prize of the dragon and a battle for the dragon balls when a Shenron sage lays claim to them. Anyway I love what your doing here (still reading or done by the time you read this) Oh and the consequence I was talking about is Bulma having died of a heart virus so that's why they needed the balls to bring her back. Hey I just found this today and downloaded it, but when I was skimming through it I noticed that none of the art you have on your account is in the pdf and I wanted to know if you had a file that did because from what I've seen the art is really good.

I see what you mean, but it would be nice to be able to see the images while reading the story. Anyways I just finished reading it this morning and I got to say it was awesome. I really felt bad for Trunks for all the things he went through and all the people he's lost. I'm also like Celari and how she try's to hide her pain under a cheerful disposition, but to be honest one of my most favorite characters from this was Boa. He reminds me a lot of the Joker, taking joy in the misery he causes others and is just a creepy character in general. I believe you really nailed Vegeta, his unwillingness to be anyone's slave, his complete disregard to his son, and even his mannerism is spot on. My favorite scene actually had Vegeta in it, it's when he's finally released and instantly turns on Ruusfa, it was priceless but the scene itself was predictable from the moment Ruusfa mentioned a submissive gene. I wished you hadn't killed Vegeta but then again it led to amazing fight between father and son in where Trunks fought to prove himself to Vegeta. While the ending I like it feels like a cop-out because Celari died of natural causes but she is brought back because 'Dragon Balls' but like I said I like the ending because I prefer happy endings. The ending leaves it very open for a sequel so are you planning to make a sequel to this anytime soon? This is regarding Vegeta's death if the clone and the original merged than shouldn't Vegeta be able to be brought back to life?

Anyway, i finished it. must say, it was pretty darn good.
i especially liked how you managed to send it off with a happy ending yet still maintained the tension throughout.
Its rather difficult to bring about such a thing without ret-conning the emotional sequences that led up to it.
