Description Edit: I think I might have paced the tutorial a little unclearly. The book/mag ends when you close the cover. Not before that. Sorry for placing a conclusion in the middle. ^^'

I misspelled 'Celshading'

Note: This is a pretty big file. Patience please. Also, this is a book. How would you open a book, do you think?

While you're waiting, a preview:

- CG tutorial!
- Celshading tutorial!
- Colouring process!
- Hair highlights, eye colouring and other misc stuff!

Anyway, it's pretty much my entire colouring process. It's not much, but I hope you guys find it helpful.

And since it seems to be the vogue these days, hey, people, if you found this helpful, then by all means, share it to the world. I don't license my stuff under the Creative Commons share alike license for nothing you know.

I'd appreciate it if you let me know/credit me before you go do it though. XD

No worries. ^_^

The lightsource is pretty arbitrary. You can put it wherever you'd like.

rifuu In reply to xrebelliousmafio [2010-04-12 07:23:52 +0000 UTC]

Ah, it's just where the light is coming from. Like if you were outside on a sunny day, it'd be from the sun. \o/
So the entire point of figuring out where your lightsource is before you start painting is so you know where all the shadows and whatnot would go. ^_^

Hmm... I have a question about my pen tool. It used to work normally... like it put the same color down with out making any layers darker when I went over it again. But now when I color, every time I go over it again... it gets darker and darker. I don't remember changing the setting or anything. Any tips?

Get tutorial by the way! I learned a lot of new things!

(BTW, XD The book thing is AWESOME.)

rifuu In reply to ShantyPanty [2009-12-08 21:26:39 +0000 UTC]

Hm, you could check the opacity of your pen tool. If it's anything less than a 100 then that's probably why you're getting that. It can happen when you accidentally press any of the numbers on your keyboard. So 1 would be 10% opacity, 2 20% and so on. 0 would be 100%. I hope that helps!

And thanks! I'm glad it helped.

I figured it out. I had it set to "multiply" instead of "normal."

I'm such a mess these days.
