This was my Christmas Card back in 2004. Since 1995 I have been making my own Christmas Cards. this was the very first full color card. Painted in watercolor.Related content

I use Windsor Newton paints. I am using the "cheaper" Cotman color grade, which i did not realize. The colors are duller which explains how
I have to go over with several layers to get bold color. I am going to upgrade to the more expensive artist's grade.
Give any brand a try though, I've always had good luck with watercolors.
My favorite paper is the Windsor Newton Brand COLD PRESS watercolor paper. I use the heaviest weight (300 lb) I think. it
is almost the thickness of Illustration board.

winsor newton pretty expensive here T_T;;; i only have WN ocre (1/2 pan, i haven't really use it .. too bad)
do you mean you buy cotman color for secondary colors and WN for primary only?
but i like the dull colors of your painting.. they seem look dull but the color harmony does not..

i'm using very affordable (cheap) pentel watercolor..
pretty ok for me.. but i can hardly use it for experimental coloring....
the result sometimes quite far from the color when still wet...
sometimes makes me overdone the painting T_T;;;

COTMANS do not have as much pigment in them i guess so they are a little more affordable....yes, Windsor Newtons are pretty pricey....but they last me a long time. i also wait for sales at my lcoal art store....
