Hey all I put together a new podcast where venture into character/costume design, starting off with Spiderman. Here's a Doc Ock sketch, I had Edward James Olmos in mind for the character, its ruff but if you'd like to know why, be sure to have a listen here...[link]

It looks great but it puts me more in mind of a tarantula or spider rather than a octopus.

Now that is damned cool. You know, I've always thought that Doc Oct was never a villain who was properly portrayed. A cold, collective, genius who puts technological advancement above all else to the point of being sociopathic and self-mutilating. And here, you nailed it. I love how for the first time, his tentacles actually make me think of an octopus's tentacles.

This concept for Doc Ock has an Eldritch Abomination feel to it, if his tentacles are composed of nano-robotics or Liquid Metal that would be an impressive sight to behold

I really like this design. He truly looks like he's a super-smart badass and he knows it too. I listened to your podcast as well, I really dig your whole philosophy towards character designs. Instant fan!

lol thx, dunno if I'd call that rendering.. more like sketching really but yeah its Photoshop, just basic brushes.
