To sum up Zanthar
She started off as a virus, gained a physical robot body, can morph her body to certain things, she was able to gain a human form, and now she uses the human and robot form interchangeably.

Zanthar Lore:
Robo is an inter dimensional traveler. He's not all knowing or anything, he's just a teen who's able to travel to different dimensions and enjoys doing so.
One day he met an evil entity who could do the same, his family and friends hunt it down throughout dimensions to defeat evil, and all that jazz.
But one day he got very ill, which is concerning because he's a Robonoid, and if any of his species gets ill, it's usually not good. (He has a human soul but that's besides the point-)
When his scientific friend(Mac) diagnosed Robo, they found that he somehow contracted a very rare but lethal virus, called The Zanthar Virus, that he must've picked up while traveling various dimensions.
The virus is non-lethal to biological organisms but very lethal to Robonoids. What it does is extract the energy from its host until it is fully drained, and moves onto the next one. It doesn't need to multiply either.
And what made Zanthar into a sentient being, is that she extracted energy straight from Robo's heart/power heart, which is where his power is stored. The more she extracted from Robo, the more sentient she became.
Long story short, his siblings went into his mind to fight the virus, but all the virus wanted at that point was to steal Robo's body, not kill it. But they negotiated by saying that they'll just give her a body. After all was said and done, she had a physical form and no longer had ill intentions, since she got what she wanted. She's a lil annoying towards Robo but in a playful/joking manner (and maybe kinda likes him-), and she's not exactly evil anymore.
And since her power kept growing, she learned how to obtain a human form which shocked everybody
