Atlas: It's not my personal room, so I don't mind as much. I spend little time in here except to entertain guests and perhaps to do a little work. -he poured Rufus out a drink and handed it to him before putting the bottle back-

Atlas: -he seated himself in an armchair opposite and crossed his legs, the brandy tumbler in hand. He looks back at Rufus and pushed up his glasses- You mentioned something about the relationship between the guilds wavering? Or was that just an excuse to come see me. -he chuckled-

Atlas: -he laughs a little- You're obviously not used to being teased. And it's a ship not a boat. -he frowned slightly at the very thought- But no, sit back down, I was only playing with you. Kalika's right, it's funny to see you mad.

Atlas: -he smiles again and stands- It's okay, I know what you're like. Another drink perhaps? We can change the subject to something more... not about you if you so wish.

Rufus: We need to talk. Not for fun, but bussiness. *seems slightly more at ease*

Atlas: Well we as usual have been keeping up with all the shipments, that's all I've been occupied with recently. Things are running smoothly between us and the mainland, as per usual. Perhaps more communication is the key... who was it that last held an inter-region event? If it's morale boosting to strengthen ties between guilds you're after then nothing promotes that more than a party or festival. It gives our residents a chance to mingle. And of course then they are less likely to want to kill each other.

Atlas: We'll have to contact the other leaders about it then. Where do you think it would best be held?

Rufus: *shrugs, not seeming to agree with the idea anymore* We won't be allowed into Kalika's, her city being secret and all

Atlas: Fine, fine. I suppose that idea's out then. How else to you propose to strengthen ties?

Rufus: *is staring off* I don't know. Doesn;t matter does it. We have our own guilds.

Atlas: Well of course we keep to ourselves mostly, but we can't have the guilds falling out now can we? I don't think any of us could afford that. I think our relations are okay as they are for now anyway, there's no need for you to worry.

Rufus: *looks at him with a cold smile* That's what they said back where I came from.

Atlas: You come from a time long before mine my friend. Time's have changed since then, and so have the people that surround you.

Rufus: No. People don't change. I see it over and over again. A thought slips in, takes over the mind, and nothing can beat it back. What if, playfully, someone mentions that a friend you thought you could trust is probably lying. That thought will fester and you'll never forget it, every time you talk to your trusted friend.

Atlas: People aren't as black and white as you think Rufus. Not everybody fits into the category of 'liar' as you seem to think I do. I'm not perhaps the closest person to anybody, but the one thing I don't do is lie. Or, as it so happens, assume things without proof.

Rufus: I never mentioned you. It's so easy to get into people's heads, to control them with words. People forget that, and how dangerous it can be.

Atlas: This conversation seems to have gone off on a tangent of a personal vendetta rather than you thinking of the guilds. I sincerely doubt any one of us are out to control the others. Unless you're the one wanting to disrupt the... slightly strained harmony we have. -he smiled- There is no need for you to think that everybody is so against you. And even if they were you could fight them off, correct? So you have nothing to worry about.
