Bio: He grew up in a small village in Quox. He enjoyed pulling pranks on the adults and other kids with his friend, Malcolm. His parents barely paid him any mind, having to deal with six other children, all younger than him. He and Malcolm claimed the town as their own, and Will climbed on top of the Mayor’s house and planted a flag depicting an arrow shot through a Fool (a jester in a King’s court). No one bothered to take it down, knowing that they’d just put it back up. The town began to lovingly refer to the two as the “Fools”. Will and Malcolm were feeling victorious, so they decided to make a pact. Those with the marks of the fool would be the only ones to be privy to their secrets. They each cut the other once under each eye, too afraid to also cut above the eye. Their parents were furious but did they care? No.
Then the shadows came. Almost the entire village was wiped out. Those who survived, slowly rebuilt the town, burying the dead. Malcolm was never found.
As Will grew up, he grew less attached to everyone around him. He’d laze about, not bothering to help anyone. As the shadow attacks grew in number, Will’s parents decided to step in. They kicked him out of the house and the town, telling him to join the Cross Order or get eaten by a Gluttony Shadow. Will didn’t like the sound of that so he made his way to Albion, where he secretly hoped he could do more than take up air.
Along the way, he honed his skills, calling himself, the “Fool”. He also hoped he wouldn’t find someone better than him. He didn’t want anyone to replace Malcolm on that status.
