Description
Oil, 14 x 18 inchesI usually scan my paintings, but lately my digital photography skills have been improving. Finally realizing that one of the polarized lighting gels I made six months ago was rotated 90 degrees in the wrong direction was a good step (thereby creating glare rather than removing it.) I'm now getting better raking light photos like this one that show all of the relief texture of the brushwork.
If you're wondering about the lighting gels I made. I bought polarized film from Polarization.com for way cheaper than you can buy ready made gels. The trick is to build a frame that fits on your lights.
