Description The best action-adventure games of the current generation, so far.

Arkham Asylum has the best stealth game I've ever played, putting Splinter Cell and MGS to shame. On top of that, the voice acting, the art direction, the level design, the character interaction and the ammount of riddles, puzzles and mysteries to solve really made you feel like you were playing the best detective in the (DCU) world.

Darksiders was a better Zelda than the last two whole generations of LOZ games. With certainly impressive level and character designs, excellent dungeons to explore, massive enviroments to travel and a damn badass ending.
Post-apocalypse is the ugliest, most boring and most over-used setting in fiction, but the Darksiders crew really made a post-apocalyptic world look gorgeous and every single second of the game was pure fun.

Assasin's Creed II, damn, what can I say? It's not common to find really multi-dimensional characters anymore, but Ezio is almost human. The cities are spectacular, to tell the truth infiltrating Vatican city just to look ar the pretty architecture has always been a wish of mine. This game delivers that and more giving you a good level of brain-building puzzles to solve.
How many games requiere you to have some art-history culture to enjoy at their fullest? This one does, and it's gorgeous. Besides, it was about time someone explored Leonardo's uber gayness.

And finally, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
I've been a Castlevania fan since the arcades, it's probably my favourite videogame IP and I must say I was worried Kojima would completely ruin the mood of the game with his over-convoluted storylines and his usually imbecile-grade dialogue. However there came Mercurysteam and damn if these guys know how to make a game.
The most entertaining and fun puzzles in a Castlevania game to date, the most awe-inspiring locations to explore, a great looking and challenging assortment of evil critters, a storyline that makes sense, a Belmont that's not a pathetic animu bishie. Only thing that could've made the game better was if they tried to make the graphics match the wonderful art-direction of the bestiary entries instead of going full-realism.

War and Gabriel Belmont were drawn after publicitary art, cause damn if they're hard to draw true-to-design otherwise.

Ever since Groovy started rambling on about Assasin's Creed I've been wanting to (assuming I could ever acquire even the slightest gamer skill) play it. I was utterly fascinated by the story, the settings and the "philosophy" if you will, that game addresses.
Great job, you, my geeky hero

There are few things this geeky hero would love more than to roam freely thru renaissant Italy, this game delivers that and I love it
