Description Introduction to Creative Thinking; by Royce Barber. Copyright 2006-08. Barber Publishing House.

This book is in concept stages, thus being quite screwed up, especially grammatically and structurally. Clips of various articles I've written are contained here, in hope that I'll organize them soon. This book is a philosophical and theoretical idea sheet for expanding creativity, widening your lifestyle horizons, and a number of unorganized topics. One tutorial of this book is about learning to multi-task and translate information, for increasing your life productivity. Additionally contained within these pages are methods for “Speed Drawing”, speed-anything actually; that I submitted for a Deviantart.com art submission. Enjoy, if you can make any sense of this preproduction concept draft! I hope to write all of this in a simple style with easy visual and text explanations, eventually expanding into virtual reality as technology evolves. I hope to appeal to all IQ levels, if possible.

For Deviantart.com users, feel free to +Fav. Content here will fluctuate as I research and post various techniques related to life-improvement.

First topic to address… Learning. Everyone learns uniquely. You may want to learn a bit about your own personality and learning style before getting too worked up about expanding your mind. There are various great personality tests out there, to help you define excellent ways to learn and grow. Find out about yourself, and then pinpoint what you know and what you don’t. Explore what works for you in memorization and information retention and real-life application. You need to be able to remember things; it’s as simple as that. As I write this, my memory and attention span isn’t good enough to sit down and write a few chapters. This makes my writing fragmented and sloppy. As I improve, this text will improve, and you may not notice discrepancies in writing quality. If my writing sucks, please do let me know. Now to circumnavigate back to learning… I’ll later post personality charts, but also you may want to consider your learning options, like in stock trading, there are always plenty of options. For example, you may be an audio learner, or visual, or by interaction, etc. For audio learners, please download a free speaking program for your computer called “ReadPlease2003”, which can read this document to you, pending on your motivation to try new things with your computer. For text learners, stop off at borders bookstore and browse through some speed-reading guides. Take a buddy and check out the Dilbert comics while you’re there. Keep your life moving, keep it fun, and obtain wisdom at all opportunities.

Topics covered in this book apply to every aspect of live and existence. No matter what your hobbies and profession, being creative (while also down to earth) is something we can all expand on. A focus of this book is to be a poetic philosophical adventure into various ways of exploring your talents, environment, and expanding your mental horizons; to enhance your reality and that of your circle of influence. This book (with a whole lot of blessings) will be an enlightening, entertaining, clear, informative, inspirational, and well spoken piece of literature that will improve the quality of human life. Yeah I dream big. Perhaps schools will use this book in Creative Writing classes, pending on my attention to organization and follow-through. If I get off the sofa and publish this book, none of my readers have any excuses to put off self improvement. Reason being, I’m an anxious depressed quasi-author of numerous unpublished gadget articles. If I make this hurdle to publishing the book; I’m going to be far less lenient on you the reader to do something of equal or greater value to yourself and the world.

Some of the numerous topics and or possible chapters I hope to cover in this book…

Learning To Speed Draw. (Or… Learning To Speed-Think by Growing Your Understanding of Reality and Elimination of Complexities…
You want to speed draw; it’s a unique experience for everyone. For some it’s spiritual, and it’s a scientific process, it takes training and skills, yet its fun and enjoyable. The point of all of this is to be incredibly Fast and Productive and eventually producing top quality art. There are no strict guidelines, the details of this process are yours to create, discover, and tune. This tutorial explains Speed Drawing as a philosophy for life. Speed Drawing has multiple levels, factors, and ever-growing theories behind it. Speed Drawing is an extension of your personal talent, productivity, style, and passion for expanding your mind. The depth you take out of this tutorial is completely up to you, I hope to get you to look at art in new ways, and understand that everything is art. All you have to do is adapt the art of existence, into your daily life. This tutorial, and all the information contained within, has been created by Zume without any research, so feel free to add comments and write things down as you follow along, so I can expand this tutorial to reach more people. If you practice this tutorial, you'll one day be able to quickly absorb any form of art and reproduce it in a matter of minutes. Gradually, you will read about helpful techniques and skills that may inspire you, such as Generating Creative Content.

* You know how dictionary authors have to write clearly and in short paragraphs about each word? That is a wonderful way to look at productivity.

Zume’s quick guide to speed drawing. this is one of many ways to absorb talent of other artists without ever stealing their work. Your work should never look anything like theirs. Your work will be done efficiently and according to a poetic flowing technique of drawing. Then applying drawing to other areas of life. Study this manual before doing anything, and be quick about it!

do the best you can in the time you have, repeat the guide until you master the technique. Completion can only be achieved through relaxed speed drawing, displaying emotion into the sketches. a form of meditation. Only pen aloud, no erasing. Once comfortable, get creative with the guide and rearrange the steps into complex versions. Take medical and safety conditions and ergonomics into account, the healthier you are, the faster you can do basic functions.

1. Draw 4 basic 2d shapes. Circle, square, triangle, octagon. Only take 2 seconds.
2. Try to make the 4 shapes 3d, only take 4 seconds.
3. Slowly increase complexity, its expected that you’re horrible at first, its the main learning experience to accept complete failure, this is a good thing. The more you fail the more endurance you learn. Just don’t overdo it. Eventually you'll never fail unless you find more ways to challenge yourself and keep your mind exercised.
4. Draw the whole alphabet and numbers in 2d any way you want, then 3d, then start working with different forms of textures, shades, glare, lighting, distance, horizon, and perspective.

With the 3d alphabet and 3d shapes mastered, you can start drawing simple robots and cities made of blocks then rounded blocks. Eventually add on detail and emotion and technique tweaks to your works.

If you have ability to concentrate, work on using internet tutorials.
If you cannot concentrate, multitasking is healthy to keep your mind moving.

A moving artistic/scientific/mathematic mind will help enhance body training and thus improve your art. Vitamins are half the process, along with as much water as possible. This all contributes to a healthy artist. Clarity of the mind and soul.

Object Translation: translating ideas and objects into different scenarios for living/drawing. One of the most useful techniques for a creative mind! Pay attention here! Use sensory data in multiple ways. such as things you see and hear and what goes on in your mind, all enhance each other to bring you into the environment you live in. use this in your drawing. For example, a tree root looks like lightning which looks like rain drops on a car windshield and looks like cracks in glass. All the same basic pattern! Even windows uses a tree folder system when you enable folder view. That’s just one of the billions of patterns out there. Recognize these patterns, use them as a template for understanding the world and ways the human mind and nature works. Learn to use this to your advantage, such as with making music. Dark or solid objects you see could represent low tones, bright objects high tones. Complex objects mean lots of notes, repeated objects mean random or fluctuating notes depending on anything you see or interact with. Translating all your senses into everything you do, enhancing the productivity of your living, and learning to live a relaxed yet productive life. Making your habits work for you. More example of object translation is when authors write a novel, the text can flow like a river with vivid imagery. Using imagery when writing or drawing is vital.

Back to the basics, the important thing when learning to draw is to examine shapes, tutorials, ways others do things and improve on their methods, and making your own technique that others will one day improve on. You are helping to make the art scene more professional and beautiful.

Some things to consider when drawing anything:
-list of shapes.
-2d shapes.
-3d shapes.
-shapes and objects at different angles.
-different textures and lighting on the objects.
-how reflective is the object you’re drawing, how shiny is it, how heavy is it, what are its physical properties, how does it react to the environment around it.
-objects through lenses and distortions.
-how would you improve the object if you designed it.
-how can you improve your drawing techniques.
-always try new techniques, no matter how messy they appear at first.
-always learn new things!!!
-does the object your drawing look different in another culture or country?
-draw the object under different lights and settings.
-randomize an object to draw, open a dictionary, force yourself to try.

For drawing people, you can download the Curious Labs "Poser" program to pose the people and make it much easier to draw them with expressions and different types of clothing.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: RULES TO PROGRAM AN O.S. BY ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
This section may be called “The Constitution of the United Philosophies of Zume”. It’ll focus on guidelines for going about daily life, rules to follow, and basic logic to help one through the day. It’ll be based on the idea of the original Christian-based Constitution of the United States. It’ll cover Biblical commandments, advice people give me, and useful information I collect while I surf the web or talk to friends. It’ll have a OperatingSystem section where I’ll list guidelines for writing software, and hopefully people will realize this is a multi-purpose section that they can apply to any aspect of life and not just software. The issue is people are cant read my mind, so I’ll have to be very clear on the exact purpose every sentence is written. Communication is an issue, even with English being the language of science, I need to find a way to talk in short sentences and get my point across exactly as I want to. Perhaps I’ll study the way the dictionary is written, or even contact the publisher of popular dictionaries and propose to write a guideline book of ethical procedures for a productive life. My pay will simply be to have them educate me in the ways of clear communication. I shall even go as far as to say that with enough leadership skills I could one day write my own version of the English language that could rapidly spread across America, and thus: A new programming language will be born, based on organic fluid English rather than code. The computer will read a short description of what a program should do, and the computer will compare it to successful programs of the past, and a new program will be generated and recorded in English so that every time it is opened it’s continually redesigning itself to what the user expects and likes. The computer will easily be able to tell the skill level of users, and continually adjust to serve the general programming community. All open source of course. By reading this entry you see how one idea modifies into another, that is good insight into the structure of the human brain, and should be studied and applied to A.I. programs, and not just silly Chat Bots. Google contains some of the smartest people of our time, who would be able to design an incredible A.I. system capable of understanding vocal or written English language and creating a user interface based on what the human defines. The A.I. could suggest default layouts, but it’s only limited by the creativity of the collective users on the internet. The internet can one day be controlled by weather as described in my little idea about “WeatherOS” running off of water crystals in the air and displaying a rainbow interface. Nifty but fruity, eh? Sometimes thinking outside the box isn’t enough, you have to throw the box overboard into the ocean and anyone attached to the box will be in for quite a shock. Water and electricity don’t mix, mind you. You see I don’t like having to explain information, even jokes, as lame they may be. Some of you are quite adapt to reading between the lines, while others assume everything and realize nothing. Well anyway, the following is a little concept image of an operating system I threw together this morning. Note the sloppy photoshopping and mixed up text: it’s early in the morning I tell you.

The Image of my Concept OS: [link]

The description of the image as follows:
My Concept image of an operating system idea that I’m working on, among other ideas at the same time. This is my solution for those who dislike the interface on Windows and Macintosh and Linux and soon GoogleOS based on Linux. My OS has no name yet, possibly MOSS or ZIOS or ZumeOS. How about ClarityOS or MindOS. MINA: Motivation Information Navigation Assistant.

So far this concept is a messy mix of photoshopped screenshots, but in time you’ll notice improvements. I’m trying to drop conventional ways of thinking about an “OS” and starting from scratch…But it’s a complex process. Complex is what I’m good at.

The screen in is split up into four areas:
1: "Storage Bins.” Think the file tree of Windows Explorer without the folder area; with giant interactive popup bubbles showing your folder contents. Serves as your startmenu, startbar, taskmanager, control panel, and file storage and KeywordedGroup search. Has an area to drop files for the world to view, such as your website or home videos. Auto-Identifies ways to help you, such as asking to rename mass files and setting timed scripts.
2: "Business Workshop." One-Stop Solution for all your Business Needs. A mix of Microsoft Office, CAD, database and server apps, remote desktop, visual basic, accounting, video meeting, shopping list, calculator, address book, calendar, etc.
3: "Entertainment." Hybrid of SonyPlayStation Games with WindowsMediaPlayer, TIVO Satilite TV, and all those fun internet games like NeoPets but graphically immaculate.
4: "Research Library." Your personal detective. The feeling of a real library, with free encyclopedia such as wikiepedia, phonebook, maps, quotes, dictionary, rhymes, translator, books, magazines, RSS & Newspapers, Podcasts, Tutorials, How-To’s, Recipes, Manuals, The Bible, etc.

Each area can be thought of as an OS in itself. The screenshot does not do it justice. You can zoom in or out of any part of the OS, you never have to 'scroll', you can move the borders to allow more space for an are like Entertainment, you can fill the whole screen with one or more areas, you can work quickly and smoothly without ever needing to install more programs. I’m still thinking about how all this will come together, but I’m a determined perfectionist so stay tuned. BTW all my inventions, philosophies, theories, are dedicated to Jesus. This submission may be a rough draft, but expect great things in the near future!

The final interface for my operating system will take more A.I. than the human race will ever have, so I’m not even bothering to draw it at this stage. It will take place underwater, with bubbles representing types of data manipulated by your biofeedback. No hardware will be necessary, as crystals in the atmosphere will transmit light in the form of lazer data to create screens out of rainbows. It’s a WeatherOS that I’ve not heard of anyone even think of, so I might as well push ahead and be the first!

I’m currently developing a set of rules, or a guideline constitution of sorts, to define how an operating system should perform. Standards are set higher than possible, as to define goals for any hackers willing to take on the programming of my operating system (which is open source of course). Quick rough draft of operating system expectations and rights:

1. The operating system shall be equally complex and simple at the same time, in a way that it has unlimited features that can all be accessed immediately with no effort.
2. The operating system shall be equally functional and beautiful at the same time, displaying custom content in a refreshing and inspirational manor.
3. The operating system shall be completely secure from virus attacks, understand all normal speech, fully automated to detect and predict the users habits, careful with private information, and only ask the user questions when the answer will equate to a high degree of increased productivity.
4. The operating system shall be perfectly coded in easy-to-place blocks of complex multi-purpose formulas, with a perfect stability record.
5. The operating system shall know when a new is accessing it, and lock down all personal files and private data.
6. The operating system shall detect all hardware, from the past to present, with complete accuracy and an intuitive custom interface for each hardware device. From scientific equipment to video glasses to errored gadgets.
7. The operating system shall have no advertisements, and discourage the use of unproductive or illmoral monetary transactions.
8. The operating system, if wirelessly connected to biofeedback sensors, shall alert the user to take breaks and be aware of mental, physical, and spiritual health.
9. The operating system shall not wirelessly hack into other operating systems without permission of both operating system owners, unless granted by law.
10. Law shall not wirelessly hack into operating systems without alerting the operating system owner, unless the owner is out of reach.

Somehow I need to integrate all data in this entry into my "Content Translation" theory on my website. So much work! BTW I feel as though my writing is careless, immature, and oblivious to existing data theories; due to my low level of education. I am severely limited by the same human abilities that allow me to function, while I’m feeling self-conscious about the world reading my material. I feel the world is to dark and bleak to feed the level of creativity that I strive to achieve, thus I need to look to higher planes of existence than the world around me. That, is a big task. Perhaps I should rename this entry to “My sad attempt to make a new world, without remembering the fact that my mission in life is simply to spread the good news of God”. Perhaps my low-intellect theories will eventually lead to a PHD then lead to a breakthrough in Christian leadership techniques? I can only pray that my efforts are blessed and dedicated to a loving eternal cause. In other words, screw worldly data interaction, I dont care about technology as much as it seems, I simply want to spread peace. Perhaps "Operating System" theories are my way to control the world into doing what I want, and if that’s so, I'm not as wise as I should be at this stage in my life. Yet, I know that my intentions are pure, so should I just not doubt my abilities?

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Mental Universe Theory: Environment Design ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
A new technique I’m working on called “Mental Universe Theory: Environment Design”. Its main purpose is to develop storylines and movie plots, while expanding memory and even photographic memory. The key point in The Mental Universe is to be able to create unique characters that can be used in story lines or for personal entertainment or storytelling. Further uses would be mentally imaging various environments, being able to quickly and entertainingly redesign an object or home or invention or business plan.

The following is a simple technique used for exercising one’s creativity. (And great for making story environments.) It’s called a Mental SolarSystem. For lack of a better explanation, this SolarSystem lives inside your imagination. It's a personal art project. Stories and art images can be developed in the SolarSystem, on any one of the planets you imagine. Each planet is an ongoing artwork. Have you ever heard of a Mind Map, this is a similar idea. The Mental SolarSystem contains planets with themes, each theme being a personal art project. I use the Mental SolarSystem idea (along with my theory of "Generating Creative Content"), to produce stories and even inventions. Each planet has a unique theme, such as jungle or undersea. I plan to one day make a computer game of my personal Mental SolarSystem, but you may use the Mental SolarSystem theory to help you develop art works and sometimes just for something to think about. The process is this: Think of a planet, what theme would it have, what type of people, what kind of villages, what textures and smells and sights and sounds? Ok now you thought out the basics of the planet, you can now draw it or write about it. The goal is to create an entire ever-expanding universe of solar systems, to see how much creative content you can possibly make. You can focus the project on just one planet, or a village or city, or even a new plant species if thats what youre interested in. I hope I explained this well. So far, this is my rough draft of my Mental SolarSystem, it’s very simple until I have more time:

::::::: Popular Transportation in Royce's Universe :::::::
*SoapBubbleShip (Disposable Transportation, is Electronically Shielded).
*SphereShip (For intergalactic travel, nano enhanced metalic shell shields from reality distortion).
*RingShip (origionally designed to transport soap bubbles, but the technology caused illegal reality distortion. reality destortion is an effect that breaks the laws of physics and speeds up the human brain at an alarming and frightening rate).
*NanoSkinSuit (Invisable Thin layer of nano-spiders on your skin, allows you to fly. Similar technology as SoapBubbleShip, but not disposable).
*Illegal Reality Distortion Treansportation (Using a RingShip with SoapBubbleShip in a worm hole. Your destiation is usually temporarly altered and thus annoying people. Too much travel this way is dangerous and can freeze you in time so you'll awake to an unknown future.)

::::::: Popular Power Sources in Royce's Universe :::::::
*Earths Core Magma.
*Solar Panels.
*Compressed Metalic Springs for Energy Storage.

::::::: Popular Internet Interface Gadgets in Royce's Universe :::::::
*Sight Enhancing Internet Sunglasses (Glasses that display a computer screen and tell you about your surroundings. Also is a full computer and cell phone with camera).
* Billions of Flying Nano-spiders floating in the air, join together to create a holographic internet interface, or just a screen image. For use when you forget to wear your InternetSunglasses.

::::::: Names for Characters in My Universe :::::::
Mia, Mina, Mei, Mai, Joh, Avy, Ivy, Eve, Voa, Moa, Noa, Bisha, Ria.

::::::: Popular Construction Materials in Royce's Universe :::::::
*Inflatible Housing (rubber-like walls & furnature inflated with highly compressed air. used to make houses that look and feel like a house made of traditional materials such as wood and metal. house can then deflate to fit in a shoe box.)
*Nano-Spiders Linked together to form a variable-strength shell.

Some of the planets have little villages that come and go over time; some of those villages are inhabited by versions of people I know in real life. I try to dream about these places, but I’ve never dreamt much. Some say dreams are helpful to the creative process too.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Interactive Operating System of the Future ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
This is yet another creativity motivation process, for an interactive operating system of the future. Work is a good thing. Working needlessly if you don’t like it is a bad thing. The very idea of work in today’s world is considered a stressful thing, but that’s just a lie of the world. Art is work, but it doesn’t feel like the negative cube-farm toil that the world puts on the word “work”. Hobbies are one of the most intensive works you can do, but you like it, now what if you would actually get something highly productive out of your hobby, other than amusement? What if you could expand your hobbies to have five times the meaning to you and even be appealing to those around you? What if the quality of the world depended on how much you love your hobbies? There is an idea for a new science. This article talks about using “work” as an art that you enjoy doing, eliminating stress from work, eliminating the lie that work is a bad thing. Anything can be an art. I found a list of computer terms at [link] and decided to make it into a contrast poem of Technology and Nature. Integrating a natural feel into the computer experience, for both the user and the programmer, using ideas from nature to make your computing experience more soothing. Phase one will be to collect as many friendly tech-lingo as possible. Phase two will be to collect nature lingo. Phase three will be to assemble an outline or storyboard for the poem to follow, and then not put much work into following it, creating a free-write the tech/nature poem and remix it a few times; using visual “imagery” inspiration from my DeviantArt favorites list (700 something images in there). Another possible source of personal inspiration will be Japanese music videos on Winamp’s video library. The end result will be a huge quasi-understandable mess of a poem. The poem will help science and art to integrate, eventually being the same thing, using natural shapes and textures to inspire the scientists. It’s the start of a larger project for understanding how humanity can better integrate nature into a modern home on a micro/macro level. This is a study on using “nature” as a tool to expand the culture and technology of a productive human city. To simplify things for the reader, I’ll just call this project a poem. Eventually this experiment in creativity growth through scientific poetry will create a new form of science. A hopeful outcome of all of this would be making work into art: A Virtual Reality community, generated by the computer when the individual user gives a spoken description of any enjoyable environment. Integrating work into the generated 3D environment, thus increasing productivity by turning work into play. Not an entirely new concept, but by making work more philosophical and inspirational will get people more involved in their work by making it into more of a hobby than work. Basically eliminating work altogether through the use of translating science into poetry. Finding what inspires people and using that as a way to help them contribute to society. Some people will not align with the art process (such as today’s sloppy public schools) thus having little to contribute to art, so they should be given equal access and rights to those who do have something to contribute, and continually work towards becoming productive. Supportive communities work. Eliminating not only stressful "office work" from existence, but also removing international unemployment, by virtually making everyone an artist. Everyone reviewing and reinventing all aspects of society, and sorted by computers. In a way, harvesting mental CPU to form a supercomputer of contributing artists. This won’t be limited to old terms such as “network”, new words and terms must be realized to define a matured internet consisting of each user in VR sculpting and re-sculpting the future of technology and wisdom through artistic inspiration. Anyone stressing out due to any “roblems” and saying this science-to-art project is not possible, will quickly be told to silence their destructive perspective..? Much like any level of math, any “roblem” is just figuring out how to understand the question, and it’s far from “impossible” with a flexible virtual environment. I hope to soon re-write this entry again in a more Christian design, focusing more on Biblical wisdom rather than man’s wisdom. Christians can use a laptop just as much as anyone, and an advanced Christian operating system for Churches to share databases is a much needed area of technology. Now I’ll talk about a possible method for constructing virtual environments: 3D Lego’s. Lego’s are an easy way for everyday computer users to build complex 3D environments. I need to sign a deal with Lego Corporation to help me design a virtual community, for millions of users to easily combine efforts to design fun environments. LegoOS, where users will collaborate on invention projects that will contribute to real-world construction projects. Collaborative community efforts are possible, such as in the development of Linux software and how Wikipedia turned out to be such a huge information resource for the Internet. It’s more about the artistic designing and dreaming than it is about the technical coding, although any effort I work toward will have nothing less than top hackers ready to take on any challenge. All I need is to combine more of my creative thinking projects into a structured book, to help solidify my various ideas into actions. The point is, I think I'm onto something big. A much higher scale project than GoogleEarth or WindowsVista. Lego's + SecondLife ( [link] ) + GoogleEarth + Winamp + Voice Chat Bots and Automated Scripts + Microoft Office Templates + NeoBook + VisualBasic + XBox360/PS3/PSP + Tivo + The Sims + LiveJournal + Wikipedia + StumbleUpon Firefox Plugin + Video Chat + Quicktime Panorama + Apple OSX + Real life city construction. Now simplify the whole thing into one inspirational operating environment for people of all ages and abilities. The following is my current list of tech terms to use for version1 of the poem. Let me know how you feel about this project. (LIST REMOVED).

* Drawing very small logos/shapes/stamps: You need a nice gel pen, practice (and firm mental health lol), graph paper, ruler, and possibly shape-stencils. Those are all handy, no matter what you're doing. To keep from getting too rusty at drawing big and small, I practice geometric shapes and 3d polygons. On the left side of a sheet of graph paper, I write a vertical list of ideas to practice drawing. Here is an example list of drawing ideas: 2D, 3D, Cars, People, Animals, Plants, Flow Chart Symbols, Emoticons, Block Letters, Block Numbers, Font Styles, Crosses, Houses, Misc Symbols, International Symbols, Boats, Flags, Letter Heads, Coins, Coat of Arms(Shields), and whatever else comes to mind. So thats my vertical list, and then I draw horizontal lines across the paper, with a space of half an inch between the lines. Just enough space to draw little shapes. So now I have a list of categories (ideas) to the right, and empty spaces to the left. This is really space saving, drawing so small.
You can see an example here: [link]
* The small scale of each drawing keeps a certain level of simplicity. Once the simple object is practiced / refined, I later make a larger version for art projects. If you use a precise gen pen, make small shapes. If you then graduate a shape/logo to a larger version, perhaps use a sharpie marker on a full sheet of paper. Start simple, be flexible, have wide mental horizons, use diverse methods, make numerous mistakes. This is the way to master your field. That, and use as many tutorials as possible. I need to make all my tutorials visual, hmm.

* Tip for turning ink drawings into a website: You can use the image program "The Gimp" to reduce your drawing to 2 colors, and make the background color transparent, so the website background shows behind the pen outlines. Open a website program, place the image, as drawings are a nice website layout. Use "image maps", which means placing links over certain parts of the image. So to make a website, photograph a drawing and pop it into Gimp, then pop it into your website program, place the links on the image, and you're done!

* Chopped up bits of something I sent someone:
There is no set system, just being determined to make your brain faster and your motor skills respond healthy is the goal. everyone has their own pace and style of learning. for some its meditation and taking a jog every few hours and lots of water. its not just the speed-drawing of shapes but the lifestyle itself that needs to take form. I'll update the article about the 'lifestyle' and not just the drawing. i would encourage you to have more shapes and draw with your eyes closed. visualizing an image with your eyes closed and drawing that image. it could take months to master but its so fun and really helps the mind to place objects. eating and sleeping, and vitamins and water, are also a big part. not sitting down too long, because you want blood circulation pumping through your body and proper chemicals in your mind. so health is a big aspect, and not just regular healthy, but swimming everyday has really helped to balance chemicals in my body and allows me to concentrate better while practicing speed drawing. my goal is to come up with creative and inspirational ways to introduce faster thinking and immediate art pieces that equal those of months of planning.

I'll just keep editing and posting my ideas to this document.

speed drawing? what do you mean by that exactly?

all you have to do is pick up a pen and scribble what ever you see.

keep practicing to get good

I just mean drawing fast. The article also covers other topics, I should take those out.

I need to make a new version of the article. I want to eventually write a book on the art of drawing anything really fast. Maybe a meditation based on drawing..? I'm also into listening to audio books at double speed. It's relaxing to me, but maybe not to everyone.

it seems a bit odd to me to drag someone really simple out into a book.

but cheers and good luck!

If you ask a question, you'll get an answer. Seems quite normal. Some answers wont be what you expect, and I think thats good. Keeps people on their toes. I've had people write me pages when all I did was say "hi".

Are you saying long answers are inappropriate? If that's so, you might not like to know how big the internet is.

ACK! MAJOR TYPO!

i mean it seems odd to drag something really simple (speed drawing) out into a book.

in my opinion you can't really instruct a person how to speed draw like how you would instruct a person math.

You only can give guidelines (half of which will fly out of that persons head) which generally comes up to a page and a half tops.

cheers! i don't mean to seem permisstic but it seems extremely odd.

drawing is one thing we all have to learn by our own efforts reguardless of who we are. (you could be GOD and you'll still going to have to sit down with a pencil and paper and practice. no getting aorund that)

The only thing a teacher can do is to guide students on what to do and draw in order to maximize the amount of skill gained in the shortest amount of time.

You're right, one doesn't need to drag something natural and easy into a long essay. But, for many people, they require this. Many people are an empty sponge, that need something to get them going. Stories of inspiration, examples, and someone to pat them on the back. That, is why people read in the first place. For those who don't require their engine to be kick started, then they need not read this. But for me, I love to get new ideas.

Speed drawing, like speed reading and photo memory, cannot be obtained through wishes and hope. It takes proper training. Very few of us are gifted with anything like an incredible memory, so we need to train it. Try training a dog without any knowledge how to. You really cant. People and animals can be quite similar.

I hope I fully answered you.

i understand your point of view but i still disagree.

no offense intended.

to speed draw well all you have to do is teach that person to draw- y'know the basics. Reduce object to basic shape, sketch out object in basic shapes and correct proportions and fill out the details. wash rinse repeat.

and yeah. start from there. (and keep practicing. set yourself a time limit to finish a standard piece of work and stick to it. 4 hours for an A3 sized pencil portrait is the norm i have been given at my college. you'll get better with each piece the more you do.)

However should you stumble across some divine secret (you might) i would be happy to change my opinion

Mercy me.... If you feel I should, then I shall start preparations. This may take a very long time, as I'm doing literly a thousand other writing projects alongside this right now. They aren't technically art related though. [link] is my current place i put my writings, under the heading "royce zume barber" and under that it says poetry and shortstories... also i have a lot of FAQ/tutorials on general living.

But in review... Yes. I shall clean up the document. It seems a rather large task to me, because it symbolises my life progress.. I put my all into my writings.

BTW, You sir are an amazing artist. Your lineart and coloring is anime but more real than that..move lifelike than what i've seen before. maybe just stylised in a good way that i connect with. you have immense potential.

i would take a look at the your page sir

What he said was: Too Long; Didn't Read.

Meaning that after seeing the wall of text: A) he didn't bother to read it. B) He doesn't have the time or the focus/attention span. C) Got lost in sentences and forgot to bring the map.

It was awesome, I saw the enormous block of text and decided that I didn't want to read it, so I scrolled down to see where it ended, and stopped right by the title "Reminders to be a good christian"

I read all of that, thanks for putting it in there, now I'll read the tutorial.

God bless

"Draw 4 basic 2d shapes. Circle, square, triangle, octagon." all in 2 seconds?

cause i have been working on that i can only get the circle and the square and part of the triangle and even if i could get to the octagon thats a pretty hard to shape to draw freehand
