I drew this based off images from songs by String Cheese Incident. This was my second drawing in this style. I was looking to bring a bit more meaning to my work after my first drawing, and although I accomplished that I was not completely satisfied with the results...the images are more blocked off and seperate from each other, which a lot of people tend to be drawn towards, however that just doesnt quite satisfy my ADD tendencies....hahaRelated content

Very beautiful, I would say this is almost a collage whihc is a great thing to do with pen and ink. I really love the mix of all the things, the images colliding together. I don't know the band but I would say that this does belong to a crazy bad, is it a crazy band? anyway, I wish there could be more images on some parts, there is just too much black and white an dthose paces could be filled. But great

thanks, yeah, the band is a pretty crazy band -- a jam band....thats the type of music i like, ekoostik hookah is the same type of band. I agree with you about the images, this piece never really sat right with me -- my favorite parts are: the city of coral, the submarine made out of the lines, the seahorse, the texas out of mushrooms and that star in the top right is pretty trippy too. I think what it is is this....i like the images, but they just dont flow like i like them too -- i examined this and came to that conclusion, so i fixed it on the ekoostik hookah drawing

great contrast. there is that area that has white backround in towards the bottom left corner and then upper right corner is dark. i like how that looks very much. i also love that little seahorse. nice work

haha, yeah, i think the seahorse may be my favorite part of that picture. I added it just cause i felt like i needed another image down there and thought that would be a cool creature for the ocean part of the drawing....although after I finished this one I started the ekoostik hookah one and, as fate would have it ekoostik hookah has a song titled 'seahorse'......I just couldnt allow myself to use that same guy, but that thing woulda been perfect in the ekoostik hookah pic....oh well

This is trippy..but I like it because of the sharp contrast between light and dark...makes the image stand out more. Good stuff

hahaha, eh, i guess you nailed me there....been kinda a dream world for the past couple years, but man, i did this type stuff before i even touched the stuff, so i'm afraid we cant blame it all on that

eh, and besides, i gave that up a while back anyway....actually get more drawings done when i'm not messin around with it cause it makes me do stuff like just vedge out and not really do much of anything, much less draw.....

actually this one took the least amount of time of the 4-- 2 days (when i talk in days its cause i didnt do anything but the drawing pretty much which means 8+ hours per day) Ekoostik Hookah took about a week and a half to 2 weeks, and Release took about a week. Joker took 2 weeks....but it has the most detail (a lot of the details are off the scanned pic -- too big for scanner)

thanks man, i'm glad you like it -- good job picking out the Texas in the mushrooms...most everyone i talk to just mentions the mushrooms and when i point out the texas they say "OOHHH, i totally missed that!" And here I was concerned that it was almost too obvious when i was drawing it...i guess i overestimated some people
Of course theres other images that get overlooked by the vast majority too -- such as the submarine thats going down to the city (made in lines, below the jellyfish), etc.

yeah, they played at Bonnaroo 2002 which was in Manchester which is like one town over... they sounds pretty good.... you should make some more stuff in that style

I've never heard about String Cheese Incident. But this work is really a psychadelic piece. I must admit that it is one of most amazing psychadelic vorks that I've seen on DA.
