Name origin and inspiration:
Monsimeow is based on a domestic cat, specially the Turkish Angora breed.
The name is a combination of “monsieur” (French for “gentleman”) and “meow”.

Love the concept!
In fact, monsieur doesn't mean gentelman, but is more used like mister. Gentleman is more like Gentillhomme or Seigneur.
