Description
It was a dark and stormy night, the dark clouds pelting those daring to venture outside with unrelenting rain. One young man was forced out into the night and told not to return home until he had “passed the test.” Not knowing what the test was, he stepped out from under the protection of the covered porch and into the downpour, getting drenched moments later. Muttering angrily, he wandered off into the darkness. After what seemed like hours, he arrived at a run down warehouse. Upon further investigation, he found what looked to be an abandoned factory connected to the back of the warehouse. Deciding that he had all the time in the world, he went to look around and met a woman who was also told not to return home until she too had passed the test. After introductions, they went over to a door leading the factory but found it chained shut with a large padlock. Looking at the lock, they found that half the key was embedded inside. Grumbling, they split up and wandered around the warehouse, looking for something to break the lock. With no luck in finding anything in most of the warehouse, they regrouped by the door to find a pair bolt cutters leaning against the door that wasn't there before. Shrugging, the woman picked up the bolt cutters and put it to the padlock. After working it a bit, the blades slammed shut with a dull clack, severing the metal loop. Then the man removed the chains from the door handles and tossed them aside as the woman put the bolt cutters on the floor. They opened the doors and, being used to the darkness of the warehouse, were blinded by the light that flooded out of the room. A few moments later, their eyes had adjusted to the light change and they looked at what appeared to be a small white room. As they looked around the new room, the man spotted a small door below a sign with big bold letters reading “TEST” and had an arrow pointing to the door. He informed the woman, and, without hesitation, she opened the door to reveal a slide and went in. Moments of contemplation later, The man followed the woman down the slide, closing the door as he went.
