Growing pains, ne?
This picture is about Riku's transformation into Ansem (aka, Xehanort's Heartless), when he opened himself to the power of darkness again. You could see it as a follow up to my "Riku: self-inflicted" [link] piece. Not very happy here.
Trauma happens. Of all the characters in KH, Riku is the one who changed the most, inside as well as outside. He had to face a lot of things about himself, and his friends, experience hardships, but in the end I am happy that he survived to become a stronger (if more somber) person.Edit: A little more description. Riku's halfway through the process of "changing" into Ansem's physical body, hence the odd hair, and eyes. Later at the end of KHII when Riku returns to his normal self, the blindfold is there when it wasn't on Ansem. I assume it just got, uh, absorbed or something, so I tried to portray that with the blindfold disappearing. I won't argue with Squeenix logics, since we already know their opinion on gravity (FF7 AC, anyone?).

Wow, your Kingdom Hearts art is awsome, I really love how you depict the change here, even though we never actully saw it, I'm willing to agree it was something similar to this.
It's so depressing to See Riuk being so upset, but I have to agree with you. Out of everyone from the games, he's changed the most, you really do have to feel sorry for him.
But on to other things, your coloring and art are amazing, these are your skills are just beautiful. I myself think I'm going to have to watch you.

Thank-you! It felt like Riku went through a lot of things after Chain of Memories, and probably felt a lot of guilt about his role in KHI. So he tried to make up for it.... but too much? Tried to be a loner though he has friends willing to support him. :<

Yes, the poor little Riku. I was about to quit the game after I found out that he was no longer the cute little Riku we all knew and loved. But then I cheeted and got the guide book to see if he would stay that way and I saw how incredibly smextastic he had become!!! XD

Hello, and thank-you for the kind comment! I've been drawing... for a long time XD;; I've been on DA for a few years, as you can see, and my art has gotten a lot better over time (I hope), though I've been drawing anime-styled stuff for the last 8 years. I draw everyday, it's good practice.
Medias, um, I use photoshop! And pencils when I'm away from the computer. As for tips... those "how to draw" books help a LOT, especially the realism/anatomy books.
