This is actually more of a response to another piece featuring female devotees of Khorne I saw. I hated this piece for one reason - the women were a) dressed in a deliberately skimpy, attractive style, and b) they were all doing "sexy walk" poses.
Now, call me a purist, but Khorne does not say "sexy" or "hot" to me. Khorne, the Blood God, says "death on legs."
It was the artist's justification for the lack of clothes, though, that inspired this. According to him, their battle bras and war thongs were meant to show that these women "weren't afraid of death, and scorned armour as cowardly." Now, that'd be fine, except for the little fact that none of them looked even remotely like a berserker.
So I decided to draw my own female berserker, to show how a lack of clothes can still be Khornate. I hope I succeeded.
