a while back a buddy and i came up with the term, "funsane". we felt that it was not accurate to call a crazy person 'insane'. everyone is nuts, it's just how you choose to handle your craziness. insane people are those who can't handle it and become destructive. funsane people are those who go on magical trips while staring at walls, create weird and beautiful works, and are just fun to be around.so ...yeah... funsane!

I think the uneven teeth in the cartoonishly wide mouth, along with the different-colored eyes, do a good job of setting up this piece to be crazy even before you see the circus. It's also fun how the circus is in color and the rest is in black and white. It sort of separates the real world from "tooth fairy land."
