May I ask what layer format you used for the gray, and what the color layer was formatted as?
ex.

I can answer that ^^Β
Paint tool SAI is not free, however when downloading it you get a free trial period of what I believe is a month, afterwards you have to purchase it.

To post a picture you made in Paint tool sai, you have to save it as a jpeg..
(this is what I do anyway, it works just fine)
so you can do 'save as' and put .jpeg at the end
and u should be able to post it

Mituni14 In reply to SecretlySkilled [2013-07-10 08:15:05 +0000 UTC]
But then I'll not be able to save the layers.

Not when you convert it to a .jpeg, but u can save it as a SAI file too if you still want the layers. That's all I got :/

Save it as a sai file and than go back on and export it as a bmp. and than change the name, so than you can go back and edit it, and you can submit it to deviant art.

If you want to submit the layered file, you'll have to save it as a .psd file.
However if you don't want to submit the layers, save it as a .png file.
Please no .jpg, they have ugly extra pixels and .png is a much better choice.

When you do a work like this, you should save it as a .SAI file so you can work on it again when you need to, but ALSO save it as .jpeg when you want to upload it, so you upload the .jpeg to DeviantArt which is an accepted format. Think of that .jpeg like an exported render file, or a print-out.

It's not free but there's a trial. Well, I don't know if the trial does expire because I've had SAI for a year now and it only expired when I tried downloading new brushes. Once it updates, when I clicked SAI to check, it says trial expired. Luckily, i still kept the win.rar file in my downloads folder and just extracted it again so voila, I have it again xD

Wait, how what did you 'blurify' and how'd you go from black and white to colour? Do you, like, set the b&w layer to multiple or? Also, thanks, I'm going to try this right now. DD
