"Circus?!",I laughed as Ryan told me Jon's plans for our day. I heard him laugh through the phone too,"Yeah, it's kind of our thing if you think about it. It holds a great dear part in out hearts. So yeah. He wants to see it. You okay with that?",he spoke calmly, lost in nostalgia. Of course I knew it held something sacred in their hearts. It was their theme, the theme for Panic at the Disco! Who could forget that? I nodded to myself, knowing good and well he couldn't see me through the phone,"Alright. Sounds good. I'll call Jill-" He cut me off,"Nah, that's okay. Jon already called her." I stopped. What a damn minute."He already called her?'
"Yeap! Seems like they've hung out before."
"Oh...",I smiled,"Looks like our work is cut out of us.",I smirked, this was going to be easy and fun. Ryan agreed then said bye and hung up. I decided to wait for Ryan to come get me and meet Jon and Jill. I then thought of what Aio had told me last night. Pete Wentz was at our show! I mean who all in the world can say that Pete Wentz wants to meet them?! Yeah! I know! It was phenominal! This was going to make us...or break us. I prayed and hoped it would make us. And I never prayed and hoped anymore. I went over to my computer and brought up Microsoft Word and looked over a few of my songs I haven't composed yet. Maybe one of them would be cool to perform? I'd talk to Ryan about it perhaps, get his opinion and help. Right then I heard Ryan pull up into the driveway and I got up, I'll ask him now.
"A new song completely?",Ryan raised an eyebrow at me as he headed down to the circus. I looked down,"Is it a bad idea? I mean...I want to have something really good to play. I know he'll want us to play for him and everyone, right?",I looked up at him as he nodded. "True, but you'll have to play one of your songs you already have composed and everything. Writing and creating one now will just mess you up, you'll to worried about impressing. Don't worry about and just do. Got it?",he smiled at me, reassuring me . I couldn't stop looking at him. That smile and the twinkle in his eyes. I nodded and looked down after a moment, a blush creeping onto my creeks. My hair fell and held my face from him, hopefully he didn't notice. After another moment he turned on a cd,"But we might want to improve your voice. You try to hard to match Aio's. I'm not saying you're a bad singer, but you need practice. Maybe this one song can help you. I'll sing the once part and you sing the other, okay?" Oh god. Great, I was going to get humiliated, but I nodded,"I'm going to regret this..."
Four Year Strong's version of 'Love Song' came on in the car and I laughed.
"Head under water
And you tell me
To breathe easy for awhile ", he immediately started singing perfectly, having his now touch of harmony to the song. I then took up the next part with a smile on my face,"The breathing gets harder
Even I know that
Made room for me "
"It's too soon to see"
"If I'm happy in your hands
I'm unusually hard to hold on to
Blank stares at blank pages"
"No easy way to say this "
"You mean well but you
make this hard on me"
We both exchanged a look then sang at the top of our lungs the best we could,
"I'm not gonna write you a love song
Cause you ask for it
Cause you need one
You see, I'm not gonna write you a long song
Cause you tell me it's make or breakin' this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay
If all you have is leavin'
I'm gonna need a better reason
To write you a love song
Today
Today.. "
And we did this till the song was over. We were laughing and having fun. We made a good team I think.
"See, you're getting there. Alittle more practice and you can sing at your own pace and tempo along with pitch and harmonize the songs you guys have.",Ryan smiled at me. Filled with accomplishment and a big ego I started going through the mixed cd that played in the car. I stopped and we both looked at the radio and exchanged looks again,
"All the, small things
True care, truth brings
I'll take, one lift
Your ride, best trip
Always, I know
You'll be at my show
Watching, waiting,
commiserating
Say it ain't so, I will not go,
turn the lights off, carry me home
Na, na...
Late night, come home
Work sucks, I know
She left me roses by the stairs,
surprises let me know she cares
Say it ain't so, I will not go,
turn the lights off, carry me home
Na, na...
Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home
Na, na·
Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home
Keep your head still, I'll be your thrill, the night will go on, my little windmill
Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home
Keep your head still, I'll be your thrill, the night will go on, my little windmill"
We sung our hearts out, blaring the song in the car, windows rolled down, and getting crazy looks from everyone we passed. We certianly didn't care. Blink-182 for life man!
We got to the circus not long after, walking to where Jon and Jill were waiting at the front gate. We were singing 'The Pros and Cons Of Breathing' by Fall Out Boy. Our two friends looked at us like were carrying a flesh eating disease. We only smiled at them and waited to enter the place that we truly belonged. The guys went to get the tickets and I grabbed Jill around the neck with my arm, catching her off guard,"So, you and Jon have already hung out before, right?" She thrashed about, trying to get away,"Yeah! Is that a problem? Let me go! I like my head attached to my neck and the rest of my body!! Let me go dammit!!",I let her go. When Jill swore, you left her alone. She was the down to earth one and it wasn't pretty when she was angry. I put my hands in my pockets as I waited for the guys. Man this was going to be very eventful.
