Well, when I put the layer mode on screen, the dots disappear. D: Also, when I make the dots, they don't come out as the color I selected. They have a weird center color like this: [link] (background).
I don't know if what I'm doing is wrong or right. Is it my type of Photoshop? Because I did all the steps that she listed, but it came out all weird :/

When I see your artwork,the most probably mistake you did is the size of the dots.Make sure when you go to menu Filter->

You can just change the dot size higher. Instead of 20 try 40 or something, I suppose it depends on your page size for how big the dot size should be.
