This picture perfectly mirrors the mixed feelings many people have about these allegories.
There is perfection in it, through the millenia the idea of life being divided into these three parts is still strangely accessible.
On the other hand, people do not like the idea of death, whether it may be a part of live or not, so they are still somewhat sceptical when it comes to the Fates. This is so well depicted by the gloomy athmosphere here. (At least this is my interpretation^^.)
A very good work!

I always thought of the Fates as looking like old women, so this is quite a different perspective! Fantastic art, you are very talented

The realism, the mood, the mastery of the medium, use of colors and shadows, all great. Congratulations on a well-deserved DD and keep up the good work.

While pretty easy to see what the theme is, why did you make them all apparently youthful instead of "maiden, mother, crone"? Not a critique, just curious as to the reasoning behind the difference.

Maybe they represent triplets or three who are connected? They all look like sisters or even the same person, just a thought. I'm a bit curious as well.

Well, the classic Fates from mythology, Lachesis, Clotho, and Atropos, typically represent the three stages of life, thus the 'maiden, mother, crone' question; portraying them as all the same age is a deviation from the classic imagery, since they aren't triplets as such.

I would have liked that, too. But one of my fav, little known anime movies, Five Star Stories, shows them all young as well, so I guess I just didn't think of it.

I have to wonder whose life they have running through their fingers in this moment. It's a beautiful painting.
