i did something like this very recently, unfortunatly i didnt have a nice piece of green grass to work with, just some gravel. the grass looks much nicer in imo. and you certainly managed to get it straighter than mine. i was having a nitemare trying to keep myself out of the reflection and the clouds in

I will tell you my secret, this shot is taken on a reasonably steep hill, with me taking it from higher on the hill, therefore, the sky you see isnt directly overhead, but off on a 45 degree angle. Thats why there is no reflection of me.

I love the concept, so simple and easy, but still so really cool. I love it!

I like this concept you've devised Jammy, and let me just add that the levels in this photo are fucking SUPERB. I mean everything has just the right tone and brightness, the frame around the mirror is gleaming and that sky, fuck it looks inviting. It almost looks like a pool in the ground or a window to another dimension. It looks tasty.. I'd lick it.
While the placement of the window and perspective is probably the best you could have got without putting yourself in the reflection, I think the photo would have portrayed itself better if the frame of the mirror was aligned to the frame of the photo. Kind of like this:

but with spacing on bottom right corner. If you're conveying simplicity, there's nothing more simple than squares with 90 degree angles, if you distort that shape then you're convoluting the visual metaphor. Think of it as a visual contradiction. There's a reason why minimalistic painters/artists used squares as the primary shape in their paintings.
Of course that's pretty much bullshit but it's the only thing I could critique on in this photo and the only thing I'd change. To sum it up, very good concept and portrayal of that concept, and also fantastic technical manipulation of the camera and/or photoshop adjustments.
You now might want to think of heading in a different direction from the peaceful scenes you've been photographing using this concept. I'd suggest doing some night photography with a model and some darkroom-esque manipulation. Fuck I just got a good idea for you! I'll tell you in person because it's kind of lengthy to describe here. It involves merging two or three photos.

yesss, love the simple life too, great shot, i like that kind of pics, but i think it would look better if you cut out the green grass obove the mirror, u know, so that the mirror with the skies are in main-focus, but thats just my opinion great shot anyway!!

This photo is evidence that sometimes creativity can be found in simplicity. The title is so fitting, making so much sense and almost making reference to the shot being beautifully simple. nice work!

Such a great, simple idea. You could take this idea further and do other sky's with other ground. Although you've picked the best colours in this one really.
Well done =]
