ok, here's my first tutorial... i hope it's of some help to at least some people = =;;; i dont know if its actually helpful...or if it even makes sense.anyway, this is a basic guide to the brushes i use. ( 3 only haha) and some general tips at the end.

Nice tutorial, quick question though, is there any particular reason as to why you're using an angled flat brush instead of a round one?

i use the angled brush for a harder, sketchier feel... i do use a round brush for softer stuff, like skin, eyes, etc

I've wanted to try digital painting for a while..need to save up to get a tablet first though heeh. Anyway..the tutorial doesn't completely make sense to a noob like me, but I was still able to glean some useful tricks from it. Mainly, I don't really understand how to choose the brushes, but that's probably minor. Showing how to layer shadow and light is something probably any artist can understand, and I found it very helpful. Thanks!!

i find that pressing Z to switch to the magnification tool is more convenient than pressing ctrl alt +
