Description
Series: Model Graphix Gundam WARS III: Gundam Sentinel MSVThis is the Zeta Plus C1 [BST]: "Hummingbird" in demonstration colors. Basically it is the Zeta Plus A1, but with both C1 (space use) upgrades and BST (booster) future grades. The C1 parts consist of fuel tanks on the wings and a smart beam gun directly attached to the shield.
The Hummingbird parts consist of high speed use upgrades. Boosters on the Arms and in place of the Lower Legs are very similar to those of the S-Gundam Bst or Ex-S (or Deep Striker) with a crucial difference. The boosters on the Hummingbird are modified to transform with the machine. For this, fuel tanks that are usually IN the booster housing are combined and instead placed under the torso, the pelvic area of which is also reinforced with a different armor plate. In their place are mechanical components allowing the boosters to rotate and leave space for transformation. The arm boosters are each equipped with a pair of cannons. The C1 shield -already equipped with the Smart Beam Gun- also has the S-Gundam smart beam gun attached as well (the black weapon). Though the machine can also equip the beam rifle that the A1 normally uses, I'm not actually sure that the dual smart beam guns can be fired accurately with one arm. I'm fairly certain it requires both arms to keep them steady.
Basically the point of this unit is to exercise hit and run tactics similarly employed by the Hazel-Rah though the firepower is substantial. However, this is a Mobile Suit Variation and it's never able to see combat in the story. If it had, the machine would be a mid-gray color like the C1.
A larger/wider/cleaner version of this image is supposed to be the index page in the ol art book. I cut it off a bit just to be a hassle
Software: Lightwave3D(modelling/rendering), Photoshop(good old post work)

Wow, Happy
, looking at your modeling has made my blood boil in a good way and the 3D monster inside is telling me to do some 3D work. I would like to know how many hours you spent on this project, please. So I can paste my self.

Kind of a big mobile suit to be called a hummingbird don't you think? But don't get me wrong it looks fantastic. It would definately be a suit that I would pilot.

Ivan, this is BEYONDSEXY.
Gundam Wars III/ Sentinel has some of my favorite designs ever, like the Deep Striker and the Ex-S BST. I totally bet that if Katoki saw this, he'd shat himself.

A cakewalk compared to the Dendrobium Orchis though. (I'm guessing here).

Yeah making the orchis was shat loads harder for me (or just took longer so I thought it was harder). This was really quick and easy by comparison.

C1 is a personal favorite. Your models look great, as usual. The render looks a little blown out, though - maybe too much ambient light. It's a quibble. You show both mobile suit and waverider modes. Does your model transform or did you build two separate versions?

sandrum In reply to Torquinox [2007-04-09 08:04:15 +0000 UTC]
Definitely transforms. When it comes down to it, rigging the model to transform is easier by FAR (and takes vastly less time) than building a second transformed model. I can't actually imagine building another one. Kind of makes me feel sick.

The only thing i dislike, is the booster efect on the ones on the background, looks like copy-paste ^^¿ In any case, the scene looks awesome, like always C=

Beautiful work, as always! I always hoped they would make more 1/144 HGUC kits from the Sentinel line. With only nontransformable S-Gundams and Zekuien with no options except a big ol' machinegun, just leaves a great design line hanging and me wanting more.

The HG's don't transform? Do they have at least a core fighter that you can build separately like the GP01? I'd love to see a Xekuzwei and an MKV. Cripes it would make my day

Yep, they have a separate core fighter, but no landing gear with them so they just sit on the ground kind of funny. I'm not sure what the hell Bandai was thinking, outside of trying to get a person to buy the EX 1/144 kits of the transformed S-Gundams.
And that would be outstanding, the MK V and the Xekuzwei. Sentinel's line up is awesome.

Wow, no landing gear ... that sucks. I guess being a few years ago they probably don't have stands either?
Yeah, so much of that series got jacked. If they ever made an EX model of the ZODIAC or even the Nero suits I'd be freaked. Is there even a 1/144 of the FAZZ?? Anyway, if there exists an HG Ex-S, why isn't there an HG XekuZwei? It just makes no sense to me.
Of course, I'm really just gunning for an MG Victory or V2

There's not even a true HGUC of the ZZ Gundam. I have the 1991 HG kit up on here, and it's great, but no FAZZ, except for the kits released by in 1987, which are nice but still first grade for the most part. The Zeta Plus of that line is really nice and transforms even. I haven't finished the HGUC Zeta to compare them yet, but I'm hoping like hell they make a line of Zeta Pluses in 1/144.
Yeah, they made the Ex-S and it's not transformable, either. Looks cool but just feels so empty you can't change it. Perhaps they'll revisit the kits when they start (finally) making a HGUC ZZ Gundam. And you're not the only fan of Sentinel to ask why the hell the original Xeku Eins didn't come with options or even a follow up kit to create the variations (even the kick ass Xeku Zwei!). I'll have to get on the Xeku Eins to show you what it turned out to look like. Means more research into emblems that I'm sure I'll have to custom make. Time to go more broke again on models! Yay!
And MG Victory and V2... I thought they released one of those or were talking. Of course I might be thinking the 1/100 kits they originally fired off or a B-Club kit.

Yeah, they don't have any MG V or V2 units I'm really hoping for one soon. They do have 1/100 kits of both machines and a 1/60 of the V2...but I've heard that none of them are really worth it. I haven't kept up with B-club, but then again I'm not a resin-kit kind of guy
