PLEASE FULL VIEW TO SEE DETAIL BECAUSE DA'S THUMBNAILS ARE VERY UNFLATTERING!
This is proably the longest i've ever spend on a picture. One week, about 1-2 hours a week, you do the math.
For once, i'm actually really proud of a finished product. The model was T.M. Revolution in a few different photos. The mian refernece was the front and back of his "seventh heaven" cd cover. But his face in those pictures wasn't too flattering compared to how cute he is in some otehr pictures so i used a few other facial referneces to get the tmr face i wanted.
A lot of this was inspired by my recent obsession with time. Time amazes me and confuses me and compells me to just stare at the sky and think. Clocks are very symbollic to me as well and I dont know why im so obsessed with clocks lately.
Addign to my clock obsession are all these clock-like songs that are coming out lately. "What are you waiting for" by Gwen and "hung up" by madonna. I could listterally listen to those two songs and the tick-tock beats for hours on end....in fact i did....drawingthis picture... >_>

Nice. o.o Like we talked about earlier, about using many photo references to one drawing, I think it looks very good this way. It's not the same picture, but still resembles Turbo. I really like TMR, and I think that Turbo is a very beautiful person, albeit sometimes even too cute. So I was a bit apprehensive about how it would turn out, as I tend to be whenever anyone at all attempts to draw my idols (including when I try to draw them myself). But I think it turned out very good. I can see that you are still developing when it comes to darwing portraits of real persons, but you're getting there, I can see that. Since I've seen your gallery, I think you do have improved from drawing to drawing. The shading on the drawing is nice, and I like how it looks so white and bright on some areas, but more shaded otherwise. It's a nice effect. The idea with clocks is nice. When you told me about it at first, it really spurred my interest, and I think it looks good. As to what someone mentioned above, about the clocks not having so much detail... well, I think it is more about personal taste, really, because clocks don't necessary have to have so much details. But on another note, sure, mayhap it would look a tad better with more detail, but you choose to leave it like this, and that's fine, too. But detail is always lovely. ^_^
Haha, by the way, I like those nails... I had very long natural nails before - before I cut them down recently, that is (I still have many photos, though... lol). So I like nails. xD

Indeed, you are improving... ^_^ And only practise can make you even better.
I understand what you mean. But as you improve more and more, you'll see that there's ways to add detail to the backgroud that does not take off focus, but actually adds to that focus. Though I admit that it takes much practise to get to that point. It has got to do with how you build up a drawing, I think...
I've messed up many drawings by trying to add detail, and everytime I do that, I learn. Don't be afraid to try that sometimes. ^_^ You can even start small if you want. You don't have to start all of sudden to add masses of detail, because if you're uncertain, it can easily become messy.

I experiment a lot with my colored pictures becaues usually i scan the lineart and print a copy so if i mess it up by experimenting with color combos, i can print it again and try another color combo. its very helpful. but with pencil work, i work with the original so its a bit tough

Yeah, I know... I don't do that myself, but I know others who practise the same way. But perhaps you can do the same when you practise detailes? Scan the drawing, print out a copy, and then add more detailes?

Bit o' something here...the clocks in the background just seem a little out of place. There's absolutely no detail in them. They just take away from the general layout of everything. An imbalance of emphasis, if you will. There's just a lot of detail in the front and center and then...nadda. Yeah, that's it.

i didnt' want the background to take away from all the detail in the front. if i covered them in detail, it would just make it tooo much
