Description This is part 2, which includes baking, painting, and hairing.

PRESS DOWNLOAD TO GET THE FULL TUTORIAL PDF. It is fairly long.

Part 1 is here: [link]
It includes making the armature and sculpting the horse.

This tutorial has been the death of me. Putting it together was fine, took about 5 hours, but was fun.

Finding a way to change the word document into pdf, woah boy. After 2 hours of searching, downloading crap, etc, I finally got it. Then DA said the file was too big, so I had to redownload itinto 2 parts.

Dang.

Anyhow, I was asked to do this tutorial, and at first was reluctant since =Indigo-Ocean already has a really good one. However, I figured if people want to make a horse, it's good to have different techniques to look at.

I tried to focus more on sculpting facial details, and not so much on the body. I also went into baking and color painting and such, so hopefully a few people find this helpful.

Sorry I do not have this online somewhere for those that do not have pdf readers. (downloading a reader takes a few minutes, if you're really desperate)

Great job! I wanted to tell you...I now have molds for the 8mm size, for $1.50 a pair! and some more choices for styles and colors! I will email you my catalog! You are getting so much better with your sculpts! I also now coat my resin eyes with sealer to prevent clouding, but the acetone would take that off, so you would need to still mask the eyes off before paint!

thanks so much! the 8mm are usually too giant for me to use, but this one was massive so I had to. if this horse ends up selling really well I might switch to 8mm, but since I have so many eyes and little time I dunno if I'll order more, but maybe in the next while. I'm starting school in september and probably won't be able to sculpt much if at all, but I plan to make tons of horses before then.

my process for the resin eyes is quite different, lol. I've been coating the eyes before painting and before putting on the matte sealer, then putting the clear nail polish over them, and they're so shiny as a result (like with regalia's eyes...)

and thanks, your compliments always mean a lot to me
