HISTORY: Named after his great, great, great grandfather twice removed (but don't ask him what that means, he has no idea), Nikola has grown up in an Icelandic tribe similar to the Eskimos and Inuit known as the Flækingur. The tribe is patriarchal but their spiritual leader is a 'wise woman' known as a Hyggindi Kvenmaður or Gindi for short. His grandmother Áslaug was the last Gindi, until she died in the previous winter. Her death was the tipping point for Nik, making his decision to leave. Before her death, Áslaug gave her grandson a totem made from a Polar bear claw. She said it would protect him and give him strength to fulfill his journey. Nik doesn't believe in the 'old ways' but he still wears it as he loved his grandmother very much.
CURRENTLY: Nikola has journeyed to Alaska after learning of the Tokota, a powerful bear-wolf like creature. He is certain that if he can master ownership of one of these giant mounts that he will become the leader that he wants to be.
