Description
Part 1: fav.me/de3gvzfThe explorer returns with... a new friend?
And so the adventure comes to an end, and we finally learn what White has found; a Cyan Pikmin! Don't mind Red there, they're just panicking because the only Mushmin they've met were of the zombified variety.
Also featuring a couple of my own versions of the Red and Blue Pikmin. Red's best at combat, so I gave them some little claws and thorns on their leaf. Their "nose" is also a thorn of sorts! Blue Pikmin are mentioned to have gills on the sides of their faces but don't actually have them on their model? So I gave them some. White Pikmin's only real difference is the white leaf because I'm fairly certain they are based upon albino plants/animals.
At the end of one of the games, we see a bunch of other onions. Gray, Pink, and Purple were all later made into actual Pikmin, but... Well, that leaves Cyan, Orange, and Green, which don't match any known Pikmin. So, here's my version of the Cyan Pikmin!
Cyan Pikmin are a glowing subspecies who feed on poisonous mushrooms. They can store this poison themselves, but cannot produce it naturally on their own like White Pikmin can. So, their main form of defense is the ability to shake off little spores that put an enemy to sleep. Eating a Cyan Pikmin can cause the enemy to sleep even longer and, if the Pikmin had recently eaten a mushroom, can even damage the enemy. Cyan Pikmin, unlike White Pikmin, are not immune to poison. They are also very sensitive to light and have trouble seeing in the daylight. Cloudy or rainy days or dark places are best for them.
Cyan Pikmin are fairly elusive little critters thanks to their love of dark caves that most other Pikmin avoid living in. They're also incredibly skittish, even around other types of Pikmin. Once they make a friend with someone, they usually stick close to that friend when in unfamiliar places. They make wonderful scouts, though, and it's nearly impossible for them to wake up a sleeping enemy.
Their main downside, along with their difficulty in bright areas, is their lack of strength. They're one of the weakest type of Pikmin, only really excelling in cave-based combat. And that's only because nothing in a cave is willing to go near a Cyan in plain sight.
Extra Facts:
-It takes about a day for the poison in a Cyan to go away
-You can tell when they're out of poison by looking at their eyes. Poisonless Cyans have green eyes
-That's not a blush on the Cyan's face. They're secreting poison because they're nervous
-Cyans love to hang out in fairy circles at night. Mostly because the mushrooms are tasty, but also because they love to sing and dance in them
-"Budding" Cyans will have white mushrooms. "Flower" Cyans can have a mushroom of any color.
-A Cyan's favorite game is their own little version of Simon Says. One Cyan will do an action and the others must copy them. The catch is they only copy "Simon" if their mushroom is glowing
-Fairly quiet compared to other Pikmin as they communicate mostly through controlling the glow of their mushroom
