Simple answer: "It's either dead or alive."
Logical answer: "It's alive. There's not very much a cat can do in a box in one hour to kill itself."
Quantum physics: "It is, at this moment, simultaneously dead and alive."
After you've opened the box to find a lively cat:
Simple answer: "Well then, it's been alive this whole time."
Logical answer: "Told you so."
Quantum physics: "Because the cat has been both dead and alive in the box during this hour, by opening the box and taking it out you have saved its life."
