Description It was a dim morning in Mayhem. The sun seemed to be weeping golden tears in sadness upon the remains of what used to be - no, no, no...let me start from the beginning.

It began as any other day would have: the soft orange glow of the morning sun creeping its way over the mountaintop; the towns people lazily crawling out of  their beds and getting dressed; another day beckoning them awake. They outfitted themselves in their denim blue jeans and their plain white T-shirts. They put on their work boots or tennis shoes, and slowly made their way to the kitchen in a zombie-like fashion. You would start to hear the water sizzle, and the soft but recognizable "drip-drop" sound of the coffepot. They would question, "should i check the news?" but it always ended in realizing that there wasn't any news to be put on TV. Eventualy - after the usual ritualistic proceeding in relation to waking up in the morning - they would get into thier various cars or trucks, or SUV's and drive anywhere from the one-tenth to the full mile that their town consisted of to get to work. THis was the usual routine for the townspeople, but for the children, today was a not-so-usual kind of day.

For th children, today was a very, very special day. A day childr3n everywhere hold dear. From the adreniline rush and susspense to staying up past your bedtime; from pulling pranks to the glorious deliciousness they knew as "candy." OH yes, today was a special day indeed....it was halloween, and every kid in town could feel the excitement, but no one so much as Billy. For Billy, today was his one month annaversary with his girfriend, and you must know what that means, that means that today was the day he would finnaly get to kiss her.

Billy had been thirteen for three months now, he was practically a grown up. He had liked Autumn scince the fourth grade, but never told her untill a while ago. he was in the seventh grade now, and had still never kissed a girl before, but today was the day. he and Autumn had been going out for a whole month; ha figured it was time.

He decided that this would be his last halloween - after all he was practically a grown up you know - today he would have to go out in style. So after a long hard decision on what to dress up as, he thought of being a vampire. He had it all planned out. He would go to her house about seven (right when it was getting dark) and they wou8ld go "trick-or-treating" all night. When she had to go home he would walk her to the door (this was the best part) and give her a kiss godnight right on the lips. Somewhere in the middle of all this (if h was lucky) he thought he'd try to trick her into letting him kiss her on the neck by tellin her he was going to "drink her blood". Oh yes, he knew exactly what would happen.

He spent the day as any other off-day from school; well no, I shouldnt say that, he really had no idea what to do today. He wanted to go fishing, or hiking, or riding around on ATV's, but he always did that kind of stuff with Autumn, and he didn't want to seem so deperate as to go see her before he was suppossed to pick her up. So, in light of that fact that he couldnt do anything, or maybe it was that time was passing ever-so-slowly and the suspense was killing him, either way, he decided it best that he sleep.

After tossing and turning for what seemed to be foever, he finally fell into sleep and began to dream. It was a marvelous, amazing dream. He was walking down main street. It had been decorated with golwing pumkin heads as streetlights, and you would see smiling faces everywhere you looked. All the childrens bags, and pockets, were full and overflowing with lolipops, chocolates, caramel, jolly ranchers, bubble gum, candy corn, and all the various candies you could imagine. A little late for the festivities he walked across town to Autumn's house; it seemed to be leaking happiniess and joy. As he stepped up to the door to knock he felt a release of all the breath he'd possesed in his body; his heart skipped a beat. would she still be there? The door slowly came to open; she ran through with open arms to hug and kiss him. The oxygen filled back into his lungs. He had never felt so happy before; the butterflies-

something to do-

He woke up.
