Select the hair in Paint using either the rectangle or the free form tool. Right click the selection and click on flip/rotate. Choose flip horizontal.

I would love to see a colt/stallion version of the manes/tails (along with a large base for the stallions)!
But it's up to you, obviously. It's a lot of work to make and you don't need the stress if you don't
think it will be worth it!
