Description
The crumpled paper is intended to convey the chaos of battle, while the uniforms and tessellation convey the dehumanizing factory-like conditions of war: line'em up, shoot'em down.

To give the dehumanizing aspect of war more "oomph", I made the soldier a medic, someone we'd expect to rise above the subjectivity of war, see past the uniforms, and feel objectivity and empathy.
