I had so much trouble naming this

This piece isn't meant to be religious. However, the idea for this is based on medieval ideas about the Devil and symbolism from the Bible. The Devil is often shown as a dragon in medieval art (a dragon is still his symbol throughout Revelations in the Bible.) and many saints in that time killed "dragons" to get the Devil away from their towns. Truth/the word of God (scripture) is often represented by a sword and is said to "pierce the Devil's lies". Often even now religious people say "the Devil/sin is taking over the Earth" or "the Devil/sin is destroying the Earth". Black has been the symbol of evil in animals for the past 1000 years (though in people it was a symbol of mystery or penance). White is the opposite of black or "good". So with all that symbolism this piece was created.

Satan means Opposition or Destruction
Lucifer means Son of the Morning or The Morning Star
