Chapter 3Damian grinned. "Sophie! You're here! I thought you might have disappeared on another of your spirit sword quests!" Sophie laughed. "I was taking care of my kids. Come on, let's sit down!" Damian, Sophie, and Cassie sat down on the stone spectators' bench.
Damian began to chat with Sophie. "So how are Pyrrha and Patroklos? I haven't seem them in a while." Sophie beamed with pleasure. "They're doing great!"
The horn blew twice, indicating the start of yet another match. Damian observed it sparingly, and focused on his conversation. "Sophie, do you know anyone by the name of Dyonysius?" Cassie flinched, and glared at Damian. Sophie shook her head. "I don't think so. Why?" Damian related all he knew about Dyonysius and his meeting with Cassie.
Sophie sat there, thinking. "Could he be after me for destroying Soul Edge? Impossible..." Cassie jumped. "Soul Edge!? No way! Let's just forget about this and head to your house after the preliminaries!" Sophie nodded uncertainly. The preliminaries proceeded without much more disturbance, and Cassie wasn't surprised to find out that Damian and Dyonysius were two of the advancing sixteen.
Damian returned to the stands, exhausted, and collapsed into Cassie's hands. "I'm so tired..." Cassie looked at Sophie, and Sophie nodded. Cassie carried Damian in her arms, and together, the three left for Sophie's house.
They passed the bakery where Cassie stopped by, and Cassie handed Damian to Sophie. "I have to do a few errands. I'll meet you later."
Upon Sophie and Damian's, Pyrrha and Patroklos ran out to greet them. "Mommy! Uncle Damian!" The energy of the children revived Damian, giving him newfound energy to play with them. The children grabbed Damian's hands and dragged him inside. Sophie and Cassie followed.
Upon entering the house, Sophie sat down. Cassie walked in shortly thereafter, and sat down with Sophie. "Sophie, Dyonysious wanted to know what happened to Soul Edge and Soul Calibur." Sophie turned to Cassie, shocked.
At that moment, Sophie's husband, a blacksmith, walked into the room. Pyrrha and Patroklos were playing with Damian, and tied him up to a post, but as soon as they saw their father, they abandoned Damian and ran to hug their father. "Pyrrha, Patroklos, look what I have!" It was a metal fragment. Pyrrha grabbed it, but Patroklos began to fight for it. They tugged at it greedily, as if trying to take back something they owned.
Sophie realized what it was: a fragment of Soul Edge. She shrieked and sunk to the floor. Cassie quickly grabbed it and yelled. "Dear Sister! What could be so terrible about this thing? What could this possibly do? Get a hold of yourself! And you call yourself the divine warrior who answered the voice of god?" Cassie ran out of the house, leaving Damian wide-eyed.
