I just finished watching episode 4, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
I love the direction the show is taking (shipping wars aside), the whole bending being part of the persons spirit, and the threat of having that taken away, the "superiority" of benders over non-benders, everything is just so.. beautifully done.
Really glad they haven't changed much from the original ^^
Btw, random question-
Can anyone explain to me why Aang's tattoos glow in the Avatar state?
Seems kinda weird

I`ve also wondered why airbender tattoos glow in the avatar state but since i couldn`t think of a logical reason I figured it`s just because it looked badass.

I've actually just googled it, and apparently there is a logical explanation!
(don't know why I didn't think to do it sooner though 
It has to do with the path of the Chi, since in the Avatar state the "more spiritual" chi flows through the channels marked by the tats, they glow ^^
I had no idea they thought about all these details while making the show, pretty awesome..
And the letters in the background are actually a poem, but I don't know enough Chinese to read it..

i always thought that since only master airbenders get the tattoos, the tattoos must be very spiritually connected and are therefore glowing while in the avatar state. just what i think.

I just find it weird since they're only tattoos, ya know, ink.
Maybe it's like "glow-in-the-dark ink"
