Story:

Hornetwatcher and Firepelt were close friends during their kithood, growing apart as they became older. When Hornetwatcher became deputy to the Rosestar, she expected to have Firepelt's support. It crushed her when he joined the group of warriors that would eventually kill Rosestar and attempt to kill Hornet's son, Riptide, who was living as a rogue with his father at the time. After discovering this, Hornetwatcher exiles Firepelt, the only remaining rebel while her son sits on the rock happily and unaware of what was truly happening.

Around 2 moons later, a rogue she-cat named Poinsetta would lure Hornetstar out of camp and then brutally murder her before returning to ShadowClan camp to deliver the news and kit-nap her son, Riptide, who is around 4-5 moons old. Also at the same time, the green snake who witnessed Firepelt's exile, would strike a killing blow when he entered Snakerocks on ThunderClan territory.
