Hello!

Here is my artwork for CDC of October 2020! As the theme is Yokai and Kami, I decided to draw one of my favorite Japanese urban legends, The Hachishakusama, also known as "8 feet tall"!

Basically, she's the Japanese version of Slender man, a ghostly entity that kidnaps children and repeats "Pō" in a deep voice. This is a very interesting story that I recommend you take a look at!

I decided to make her in my sauce by taking inspiration from other popular Japanese ghosts as Sadako from Ringu or Kayako from Jun on. I also wanted to set a kind of Japanese painting vibe, but it didn't really work. I also wanted to put a lot of emphasis on the ghostly side, since her hat and dress are white.
