Description
This is the second part of a commission I took.The task was to represent a knight as an allegory of masculinity.I chose to approach this as a reflexion on what true strength is.
I wanted to avoid the paladin in shining armour, because true strength isn't an ideal of perfection. And I wanted to avoid the mindless epic fight scene, because true strength isn't glorified violence. True strength is about looking straight into the misery inside of you and around you... and deciding to fight it anyway. It's about being solidly anchored to earth and not dreaming of glory. It's about picking yourself up every time you fall. It's a slow painful grind and not a glorious charge.

Again, your thoughts on your work are interesting to read. I would add, true strength is often shown by humility and service. That was what struck me by the knight's pose- he appeared to be almost bowing, gazing upward with determination to meet his task.
I like your red flames and the sparks. That's a great touch to balance the red of the cape.

Oui, je prends des cours de plus en plus intensifs depuis quelques mois, donc il y a pas mal de progrès
Le design de l'armure est essentiellement inspiré d'armures historiques, et la technique de peinture c'est un mélange de souvenirs de quand je peignais des figurines étant ado et de bons vieux principes de réflexion de la lumière.
En réalité, c'est pas si compliqué. Le plus difficile a été de réussir à rendre la pose sans massacrer l'anatomie ><
