Hey guys!!How are you doing?
I'm currently writing the new comic, as you guys might know. So far, this has to be one of my favourite scenes! There are a few elements I had to hide for the sake of not spoiling it, but boy, I can't wait to get to this part!

how exactly would that work with dogs? I mean... A: most dogs would be able to wiggle out of that judging by how many can wiggle out of a collar (or harness) that's properly fitted, and B: it doesn't really look high enough given a dog can stand on it's back legs...

The gallows' rope tightens up with the body's weight, (and can be worsened by struggle), which differs from a dog's collar. There are many different sizes of dogs, and in fact, there's a dog in this scene who's height seems about perfect for that rope...

And (not to get dark) but there are loads of cases where dogs in real life have accidentally hung themselves by their leashes on fences and stuff. Not every collar can be wiggled out of unfortunately.

I have never heard of a dog hanging itself... I've heard of people hanging their dogs (breaking their necks more than the suffocation thing that hanging generally entails with a noose like that without the drop door) so IDK... But I also don't claim to know everything.

Oh Skailla, this is gorgeous! I always get so giddy whenever you post full paintings; everything about them is pure eye candy!
The reddish tones you used really give it an atmosphere that strengthens the feelings of concern we as viewers have for Steban and Martin, which contrasts nicely with the cool-colored shadows in the crowd. Purple was a great choice; it's cold, but has a hint of warmth to it, which nicely supports their cold but mixed expressions.
You did a great job with the composition, too! I love how Steban is surrounded on all sides, which not only places emphasis on him in the piece, but also further strengthens that feeling of "oh no!" when you look at it. Overall, outstanding job!
