These large avian hostiles are know for their opportunistic scavenging, aggressive behavior, and predatory prowess. A very dangerous threat to unprepared explorers, these strong creatures attack with their well-developed talons, serrated beaks, and spiked, whip-like tails. They are infamous for diving into their foes head-first, using their hard, spiked crest to inflict damage. It is recommended to attack from below, not above, to avoid their sharp back spines. Due to their large size and huge wingspan, adults have difficulty navigating heavily overgrown terrain; thus, taking cover under dense forest growth when possible is a must.

Adults keep a nest year-round, and will hoard a variety of treasures; usually items that shine, like gold or gems, and other trinkets. Sciverds are very protective over their nests. The more common yellow-winged variety live on Mana Ridge, and hunt over open fields and arid environments, but a rarer green-winged sub-species have occasionally been spotted in the deepest parts of Angura forest. Their prey of choice are Snufflers, but they aren't picky, and will eat almost any kind of meat. Sciverds have also been known to remember faces and hold grudges; beware if you fail to take one down, it will remember it.
