I happened to scroll down and see this comment so I'm going to ask:
are you really judging her by a photo?
Just because a girl is wearing Superman-based underwear and is posed in a seemingly sexual way, doesn't mean she's doing it for men and popularity. I understand that "sexy" photos like these have been repetitive, which I really hate, but come on. Who knows, she might really like Superman and a whole bunch of other comics and games. YOU DON'T KNOW HER, so you have no right to assume this photo was for popularity.
And don't think I'm saying this because I think you're a guy. I don't care. NO ONE should think like this.Β

She also uses game controllers and Jack D's in her photos. Whether or not she's into those things, she's whoring them out in a cheap appeal to fit in with the mens. It's a "grrrl gamer" kind of thing. Lame, boring and done to death.

i find a lot of her stuff very witty and it's consistently well photographed, with long-running themes and with a consistent visual style. ok, so the subject is a young, attractive woman? i've got no problem with that whatsoever, as long as there's not some pimp behind it - which there isn't. get over it - and yourself

honestly, because there's so much of it already. and it's cheap.
and just.. it usually takes a lot less time to take a photo with sex appeal than to draw a picture with sex appeal. which, like I said earlier, is cheap.

I will state again that I understand what you mean, and it DOES annoy me. I DO believe that her photography is very suggestive, but I IGNORE it. What I don't ignore are "haters" that don't just insult them, but me as well. AGAIN, if you have anything else to say, say it in my notes. It's rude to cause an argument in the comment section of someone else's work.

Pardon, but I did say I would do the same thing you did. I said "how about I judge you for the ONE thing you did?" I judged your book by your cover just as you did Slawa.
And again, yeah I know about the unfortunate "ass shots"...and I do understand how such ugly judgement is accepted on the internet. You are still talking about a living breathing person with real, live feelings. Frankly I would like to get to know the true her, but all I got from her photography was...a very suggestive personality. (In fact sometimes I myself feel bad about my own body because of these shots, but y'know...) So I don't usually let it bother me. What I let bother me is the ugly judgement.
I understand how you feel and frankly, there are a lot of girls like that, but not as many as it seems. There are actually less girls like the one you see her as, and I am praying, hoping that Slawa isn't one of them. Slawa is beautiful despite such repetitive work, and it saddens me to see that her "ass" and only that from her on the front page. But she has every right to take her talent and do what she must with them. The insults are unnecessary.
I deeply apologize for the long comment but I hope you read it through, all the way though and not just skimmed. Also, I don't intend on hurting your feelings or hating you. c: I just feel a little put down, I just felt bad about myself. oh, and I'm a straight female (I think?) and even I think she's beautiful. I think she's just using that beauty in the wrong way. And to be fair, stuff like this doesn't make the average female feel to good about her appearance either ^_^;;;
