Description

I used to have dreams of the same guy over and over again. The dreams were different but it was the same guy. Same hair, same voice, same clothes. But I could never see his face, it would be blurred out. In the dreams I couldn’t remember what other people said to me, but I always remembered what he said to me. He knew things about me that no one else did.
I named him Jack.
He showed up randomly, and he left randomly too. For months, he would show up in my dreams and we’d talk. Usually about what was going on in the dreams, he’d ask how my day was, what life was like. I never told anyone about him, at least not at the time. He was a comfort. And then my parents told me we were moving across the state. We slowly packed the house, saying goodbye to the people I’d known my entire life. Moving away from my hometown.
I haven’t seen him since.
I wonder how he’s doing.
