that is really spiffy the way you did this. what did you use to give it the bubble/glass-y look?

That's a good question. Here's what I think (or how I would attempt to do it):
use an inner shadow with adobe photoshop to make the dark highlight all the way around, and then maybe just some white bevel and emboss on the top at probably 100% exposure, 90 degree angle. I dunno, haven't tried it yet.
