A gym very near to my home switches between , and extremly often.

UGH I hate it when that happens! I was about to go to a yellow gym when it swapped to a red one! Then again, there was only one Pokemon guarding it... But still, it annoyed me. I was just going to train there, and then the game said "Nope! Too late! So sad, too bad, bye bye, now leave." And it was HOT that day...

I actually have no idea why that gym near me is so fought like that.
I do not live in a big city, nor are here THAT many people in my town who might play it.
Ok i saw a couple probably around the age of 50 who played it together and sometimes a few children chillin' at random spots but still, those people who capture the gym probably are always the same persons.

What's even worse about the gym I talked about: It was just a fountain. A FOUNTAIN. Then again, it was right in front of a movie theater, but STILL. I saw two guys, probably 17-19, and I was betting that they were the ones to change the gym.
