Description I had a TON of notes on Arms and Hands, and fingers. I grabbed what I thought was most important for this tutorial. It was a pain in the butt to place things in some dicernable order, so I hope it doesn't confuse!

ENJOY!!! <--I love that emoticon!

This is an incredible tutorial. There are a lot of useful references here that one can use.
I, for one, struggle on arms and hands, so this is really helpful!

You'd be surprised. There is always someone out there who just has to be negative for the sake of being negative...but secretly, inwardly, they appreciate it

True, true.
I guess there are some pessimists...
Of course there are also people who are positive for the sake of being positive.
We call them "crazy".

that is the most helpful hand tutorial. no kidding !!
do all hands have the same veins stucture? <-- i hope i put that right

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snigom In reply to Arwen28 [2008-02-06 05:01:13 +0000 UTC]

LOl thanks

As with anything in regards to "humans" the structure can always change. The vein structure is more like a "general" guideline. You can skew and adjust to your creative satisfaction

Nyk-26 In reply to ??? [2008-01-28 06:42:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for this, lots of great stuff. Hands annoy me. >_> One question though, is a hand without fingers really supposed to be half the length of your forearm or am I understanding it wrong?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snigom In reply to Nyk-26 [2008-01-28 13:42:54 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome! Yes, for the 'most' part the palm or 'hands without fingers' is generally 1/2 the size of your forearm. Remember this, these are guidelines to follow if you are not sure of your proportions. You will discover, as I have, that people are different. They don't always follow the same rules. My theories represent an aesthetic normal but can easily be changed to suit the subject yo wish to draw

Nyk-26 In reply to Snigom [2008-01-29 04:05:07 +0000 UTC]

Okay, thanks. ^_^ I probably use myself as a reference too much just because it's convenient, but I guess I'm disproportionate. ;>_>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Snigom In reply to Nyk-26 [2008-01-29 13:34:18 +0000 UTC]

LOL! And that's ok I have used myself as well and I am far from the aesthetic norm
