Baast and Rexy had been good friends since they first met each other. Rexy being only a year old and the big cat being much old, the other male helped the younger learn the ways of the world that he did not understand. As their friendship grew more, the unlikely duo found that, together, their power was far greater than alone.

Rexy really did not understand the world around him anymore. It had been years since he'd last seen any of the living plants and creatures that he was seeing now. When he first found the wild cat he though that maybe this male would just brush him off like all of the others. But the more that they played and did things that the young rex once did, he saw that he was developing a bond with the cat that he had not had in many years. Now with this friendship he thinks that he might like how the world changed for the better.

Baast wasn't one to ever think he could love. No, not romantically. Well, yes, that too, actually. But the kind of love he had for the young rex that plodded along behind him evoked a sort of instinct out of him that the mutt was sure he'd all but snuffed out. Something about kids, ugh. They just... needed some guidance in this cruel, unforgiving world. And, really, it wasn't that he was the only one giving in their companionship. There were more times than not where the playful actions of the young raptor would make him romp with him rather than roll his eyes at the entirety of it. Rexy was able to evoke a stroke of youth that the mutt was once positive had died long ago. Probably buried where ever he had left his heart years ago. Somehow, the rex was able to exhume it and bring it back to life. The lip of the cat curled into a smirk as he regarded the other. Unlikely... but... probably one of the best things that had happened to him after all.
