Description 1. Sam and the Skyscraper

Writer: Hanah Lee Cook

Director: Jeremy Jensen

Date: June 25, 2021

Synopsis: "Miss Nanny gives Sam and the Muppet Babies a new block city construction set."

It's time to get creative. The episode involves everyone building a city out of blocks. However, Sam insists that it should look like the box, and he tries fixing it up. This episode has a solid moral on how there's no one right way to play with toys. Everyone has their own way, which should be embraced. Let's break this down.

The Setup:

We start with everyone playing with a train set when Sam comes in. He says that the caboose is in the wrong place, and puts it in the back. This helps to show that Sam is someone all about order and structure, yet he still shows it in more of a stern love sort of way since be doesn't exactly act mad. Ms. Nanny comes in with a block city construction set for everyone to play with, and he's quite impressed with the skyscraper. As for how the city is going to be built, he has Fozzie and Summer make the white post office, Piggy and Gonzo make the blue bank, Kermit and Animal make the pink grocery store, and he gets the purple skyscraper. It's pretty obvious that he definitely wants things in a certain order, but it works. He's interpreting fun activities as something where the more structure and order that there is, the more fun it is. That's not a bad idea. Having random chaos isn't a good idea, though he's also really getting into this.

Making The Block City:

In a pretty surprising moment, he's actually quick to build his skyscraper when looking at the instructions, and there's definitely a sense of power and authority from how tall it is, representing who he is.

He first goes to Summer and Fozzie. Rather than a post office, they made a joke museum. It makes sense given how fun loving and jovial they are. Sam does at least make attempts to be reasonable by saying this can stay as long as they put in a mailbox to make it a post office. It helps show that he at least tries to accommodate others when things don't go as planned.

When checking Piggy and Gonzo, he sees that they made a space diner for everyone to enjoy. That's certainly unexpected. If nothing else, at least the customers there do enjoy it. However, he's still not really happy with this, but keeps it under control. He even briefly considers keeping it when they mention having cookies, showing that he's still trying to make it fun, but from his point of view. It's when he gets to Kermit and Animal that he starts losing it. He sees that they made a disco dance party pirate ship. That is pretty fun, but there isn't much practicality for this, and he's someone who values practicality. While not fuming, this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, and he leaves.

Conclusion:

The ending goes into an interesting direction. He goes to Ms. Nanny to validate what he thinks. Then she says that everyone has their own way of having fun, and he at least built his skyscraper without problem. That's a good point. What everyone built, while unconventional, wasn't exactly detrimental to how the block city worked. It was still extremely creative, and he at least made his own contribution his way. He then apologizes to everyone, and Summer gives him a picture of their city. That's nice. He then adds more to the city upon everyone's request. Now that's a nice ending.

2. Animal Too Loud

Writer: Sarah Eisenberg

Director: Guy Moore

Date: June 25, 2021

Synopsis: "The Muppet Babies’ fun day at the library is nearly ruined."

Be very quiet when watching this episode. The episode involves everyone at the library. Animal is asked to be quiet, but he has a hard time doing so. This episode has a good message on how you should control yourself when trying to be quiet. Let's break this down.

The Setup:

We start with everyone at the library with Mr. Manny, excited to read books. Statler And Waldorf are also there. Animal almost makes a loud noise and disturbs others when he accidentally bumps into a cart. This isn't much of a surprise since he is wild and energetic, which comes back to get him later. When checking out a funny picture book with Fozzie, he accidentally makes a sound with Sir Featherbrain the rubber chicken, and he gets put on the shelf by Mr. Manny. They try to get him back. Animal here feels personal responsibility for what happened since Fozzie didn't do this. You can at least admire his dedication when he tries fixing his mistakes.

Rescuing Sir Featherbrain:

And so we spend the bulk of the episode trying to rescue Sir Featherbrain. We first go to Summer, where she helps them rescue him from the wild west while Statler And Waldorf are asleep. They almost get him when Animal celebrates too early, and they're all caught. This happens again with Kermit and Piggy, where they help them rescue him in Muppetopolis. There are a lot of obstacles leading up to the building, but everyone else diverts these distractions. But then Animal cheers again, and they're caught. Animal isn't acting dumb, but he's definitely not that mindful of his actions. It makes sense since he's someone who tends to act before thinking, which usually means not taking your environment into consideration.

Things are more successful with Gonzo though, where he suggests that they act as ninjas in order to get Sir Featherbrain. Animal actually shows enough restraint and gets him without being noisy. Being ninjas works since there's a sense of excitement he's known for, but also requires discipline to be effective, with Animal able to juggle both well this time. Unfortunately, they're still discovered, but this time with Fozzie making noise from being overjoyed.

Conclusion:

Just as it seems like Fozzie is being blamed again, Animal steps in on how he was the one who kept making noise, but also tried doing what he can to be quiet. He's then praised for trying his best to be quiet, and Fozzie gets his chicken back. It's a fitting ending since Fozzie made just one mistake while Animal was willing to own up to what he did. He's all about integrity. It's just a nice, fun episode.
