I'm dropping lizards left and right, but it's not fast enough, as more laser shots pound Nadia. I can smell her flesh. Roasting.
"Damn it, Monica!" I yell. "Where are you?!" Trying to get to Nadia and lasers head in my direction, one shots grazes me. Superficial. I'll survive. I need Nadia to. Please! I pray with my whole heart.
*Help is on the way* I hear via mindspeak.
The air shimmers around me, heat waves. And then she is there.
